This is a real old style bakery. Nothong I’ve ever had has been dab. Custard tarts are always a stand out. Today I went with a spinach sausage and apple turnover with fresh real cream. Perfect.

This bakery is tucked away in a complex that also houses gourmet and Asian supermarkets; although there’s a big sign you can see from Leach Highway, it always feels a bit like an open secret. Let me let you in on it; this place is awesome. Their pies are fresh, made on-site and delicious, making this the best place to get baked goods within a four kilometre radius. I’m also a fan of their cakes; they do a caramel slice here that balances the caramel well enough that it doesn’t feel sickly by the end of the slice like it does when I buy them elsewhere. You can also score a range of beverages here. Well worth considering for your next lunch run.

There’s nothing like a fresh loaf of crusty Italian bread. You can keep your Viennese tiger loafs from Woolworths; this is the place to get real quality loaves and if you’re ever out Myaree way one afternoon, be sure to pop in and grab one or two. Bread Craft’s range is all made from organic spelt flour and everything is baked on the premises, without additives or preservatives. Aside from the trusty, crusty Italian loaf, I’d also recommend you try their divine spelt sourdough and array of multi-seeded spelt rolls. Yummo!
