A hop, skip and a jump away from butcher and European food store is my first stop when loading up on ingredients for a home cooked dinner. Nestled in a small arcade, the fruit and veggies here are the brightest and freshest for miles around. Bunches of fresh herbs are always available and prices are easy on the wallet, leaving you with more coin for other essentials like wine.
Run by an accommodating Asian family, the service is friendly and helpful. The young Asian lady who is in there every day, is always happy assist me in choosing the right veggies for cooking, and solve problems like distinguishing a Spring Onion from a Shallot. On a few occasions I’ve seen cooks from nearby eateries drop in to pick up their fresh food needs, which is of course testament to the quality here. If you shop in the area, by pass Coles and IGA and get your fresh produce from the adequately named, In Season Produce.
