In the cool green space that was once a nursery, Casa Bianchi in Mt Hawthorn beckons like a calm oasis. Complete with murmuring fountains, koi fish, verdant ferns and trees, shady umbrellas and chilled music, you instantly forget that you are in the midst of a busy inner suburb. I don’t know of any other eatery in Perth that provides such a tranquil and soothing environment. It has the effect of lulling you into a state of calmness, and even though my phone didn’t work while I was there, I think that’s part of the magic of this place. I chose to sit out in the garden area, although you could classify the entire venue as a garden. There are leafy nooks and corners all around, as well as the main area under the roof where you line up and order your food at the counter. Though nothing out of the box, the food is always fresh and the juices are deliciously revitalising. I ordered the savoury French toast with avocado and onion relish, and freshly squeezed fruit juice. It was a generous serve of avocado, and while the dish itself wouldn’t win any culinary awards, it was perfectly adequate for my mid-morning solo dining experience. I sipped on my juice and enjoyed the soothing sound of the fountain and the tranquility of the space. I could have sat there all day with my book, but alas, I had work to do. I thoroughly recommend Casa Bianchi for a quiet, leisurely brunch or afternoon tea. It’s not often that I recommend a café based on the venue itself, but this is an exception. I guarantee you will love sitting amongst the frangipanis, sipping a coffee and savouring a quiet moment. There is a range of cakes and sweet treats available, so it’s perfect for that afternoon pick-me-up, with or without a friend. Just remember to take cash along, as there is no Eftpos available.

My attention was initially drawn to the Potato Eggs($ 21.80) because it sounded like quite the sizable dish and I was hungry! Mr. M ordered the Avocado Smash($ 22.80) as he had the dish before and enjoyed it. Coffee arrived after about ten minutes, the blend was nice and quite strong. It was perfect! Both coffees were finished by the time food arrived, it took about 20minutes to arrive to the table. My Potato Eggs were well cooked and filling. I enjoyed the dish. Mr. M had the dish before so his plate was clean in a matter of seconds! Read more on the blog(lilepr)

Beautiful atmosphere. The surroundings is so magical. I love the trees, the waterfalls and the food and drinks. It’s a cute café tucked away behind all of these trees. I had a soy cappuccino and the ham and cheese toastie. The best ham and cheese toastie I have ever had!!! The chilli jam that was served was a nice little surprise! This is a place for the girls to come and gossip about the week :)

The little ones and I come here all the time — the setting is a cool respite in the heat with a calming ‘you-don’t-feel-like-you’re-in-the-city’ atmosphere. The coffees are always on point, the food tasty, the servings are very generous, dogs are welcome and located next to one of my favourite parks. But why the three star rating — for a few reasons: 1: it’s cash only. There is a Westpac nearby but in a cashless society, it’s frustrating. 2: it is squeezy for a pram, which is currently a criteria for me 3: There is no real take away food option other than the cakes, which is a shame with the great park nearby I love the staff, though the constantly seem run off their feet. Eat the French toast(it’s savoury not sweet), the mushrooms, schnitzel anything and the avo smash

Breezy fresh and very au-naturel… Lots of plants and water features… Reminds me of Bali actually or Vietnam!!! The café itself is very casual, busy and you have to order and pay at counter. Cash only. Ventured this place with my fellow sisters. Easy access for baby prams, a mixture of patrons(young and old) and enough room for a waddling pregnant lady like me! Can’t complain. Will definitely come back, if not for the food… At least for the ambience. It’s like a mini getaway.

As many have described, the setting makes the experience at Casa Bianchi. They have a beautiful garden patio with a central water feature surrounded by fruit trees. The salads and juices are light and fresh, perfect for an outdoor summer lunch. The lamb and chicken are nothing to write home about, but the quality is decent. Great place to catch up and shoot the breeze!

Love this wonderful place! The atmosphere is akin to stepping into a secret garden. The servings are generous and you could while away the hours sipping lattes and admiring the gardens.

It’s like an oasis you stumble upon that you have to constanlt pinch yourself that you’re still relatively near to suburbia! People aren’t kidding when they talk about the décor of this awesome place, so green, so natural and super relaxed. We came here for breakfast and boy were those serving sizes MASSIVE! Enough to feed 2 per plate I reckon. Seriously good flavours, although at times too intense– my meal was a little heavy on the salt side. Coffee was made well and fast to serve, with a great smaile coming from staff! I really wish I had listened to the other reviews when they mentioned NOEFTPOS! Is it just me or am I the only one finding that carrying cash is well and truly on it’s way out the window? But that is a small thing to complain about. Parking can be a little bit of an issue being along the Scarborough Beach Road strip being quite busy at lunch time. Food was a little over-priced at first, although seeing portion sizes I can see why, but when you can’t feel like you could finish your meal it feels wasted :( I think I could come here again easily, not only for the food but also that relaxed feel-good sensation you get when you dine here!

Had a fabulous experience here today! Arranged to meet friends but they were all over half an hour late! Ugh. I was embarassed to have to hold the table so long when the café was so busy, but the proprietor couldnt have been nicer about it! Sympathized with me, offered me the paper to read, assured me it was all ok, etc. When finally we dined, everything was fantastic. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals immensely. Quality and quantity was spot on. And, of course, as Im sure many others have commented, the café setting and amazing Mediterranean gardens and water features are stunning. My friends had never been before and were in awe of the ambience and friendly attitude of the staff. Top notch café. Well done Casa Bianchi!

Love the garden setting with huge fountains — makes you feel like you’re some else far away. Good coffee, decent food, reasonable prices. Cash only.

I have often climb out of bed on a Saturday morning with the desire of a good hearty breakfast to kick off the weekend. On this particular weekend my desires lead me to the local cuisine of Casa Bianchi. In a nut shell, mediocre! Food was ‘OK’ I guess but way over priced. Service not great as our table of 4 received our breakfasts in phases to which I had finished my breakfast before the final diner received theirs. That is pretty poor when your providing a hospitality service. The delivery of our coffees also resembled the ‘phasing’ service. Sometimes an honesty about the food you serve is the best food of all. Trying a little too hard I feel. If it wasn’t for the great setting and surroundings I would of give it a 2 star. Not a great start to my weekend!

I’ve always been curious about this place, I’ve watched it transform over the years from nursery, to café, to nursery/café and wasn’t until yesterday that I actually tried it out. Let’s just say I was already in love upon entrance where i was greeted by the cutest dog ever, followed by décor that was eye pleasing from all angles. Cassa Bianchi offers breakfast, lunch, coffee — dine in and takeway and is also licensed(beer and wine, no charge). I had myself just a flatt white and had a ball trying to take pictures of the cute dogs that freely walk around the place! This will definitely be my new local coffee stop, absolutely loved it just from my first visit. The only fault I could find with this place was no free wifi, but why would you need such things when you’re surrounded by the lush gardens of Casa Bianchi. Take in that free oxygen instead and brag about it on facebook later!

This place is beautiful! There are lush, green plants all around, a water feature and garden ornaments — and the tables are slotted in amongst it all. It creates the most relaxing atmosphere — it’s the perfect place to catch up for brunch or lunch. They offer made-to-order freshly squeezed juices which I thought was the perfect addition to a place like Casa Bianchi. There are set options if you aren’t feeling that creative or you’re able to request your own blend. Seating ranges from outdoor loungers to garden benches to intimate tables for two to cater to a variety of needs which is great. They also have those outdoor plastic ‘walls’ that can be closed off in the winter, so you can still enjoy the serenity of the garden without being drowned. The staff were friendly and engaging — they were happy to offer suggestions and service was quick and efficient. A word of advice — it is cash only and I don’t think they have an ATM on site. I can’t really comment on the food as I ordered the cheese toasty and an iced chocolate for a quick lunch but I did see some tasty looking dishes come out of the kitchen and from the looks of it, there is quite a varied menu that I would love to come back and explore.

Everytime I come here for food I’m always blown away. The owner is this lovely Italian guy who gives great recommendations on what to try. Today for lunch we had the roast lamb roll and the chicken schnitzel with salad. And two home brewed iced teas! The lamb was cooked to perfection with flavors of rosemary and garlic throughout. Each mouthful was a treat. The chicken schnitzel was succulent and moist with a thick crispy coating, flavors Parmesan and herbs. Just incredible. The other great thing about this placebos the décor. Everything is mismatched, you’ve got cute little tables and chairs of all sorts set in a beautiful garden. This café almost looks like a nursery from the outside. But don’t be fooled to what flavors hide within. Definitely worth a look. Does only take cash!

Was just driving past & thought we would stop for lunch. The menu was hard to choose from for my young daughter but my mum & I got the most amazing food! I have the Avo Smash(pictured) and my mum has the Mushroom Stack. Both delicious and big portions! Wasn’t the cheapest but well worth it!

Man this place is cool. The tables are laid out within the garden and between water features, creating a truly unique relaxing environment. It really is a little urban oasis. I only had a juice during my visit, but the food coming out of the kitchen looked pretty incredible, so I’m very keen to head back there for lunch. They’re a cash only business, which is a bit of a pain.

Casa Bianchi has you feeling like you’re in Bali, surrounded by lush greenery. It just doesn’t seem like you’re located on a busy road in Mt Hawthorn. I only ordered a green tea, but I wish I tried one of the juices. I will next time, they looked soo good! The waiter also brought over bruschetta, thinking it was ours and, gosh, I wanted it to be.

I cant believe we drove past Casa almost every day thinking they sold plants or some other garden type stuff, when in fact they were a local haunt for the Mt Hawthorn foodie. After a friend had promptly told me off about being oblivious to the café, we decided to drop in for some hard earned Friday brunch. After getting the tour and admiring the large Koi fish in the outdoor pond I ordered a Long Mach and the Field mushrooms. The menu is quite expansive and looked to cater for most taste buds. We melted into our chairs by one of the small gas fires burning mid way through the café and awaited the order. Look my plan was to have a small serve of mushrooms to ‘simply wet my feet’ but to my astonishment a large serving arrived with bacon, mushrooms, grained toast and baby spinach leaves. With a fresh squeeze of lemon cut through the richness of the olive paste and the Parmesan beautifully. Whilst i dont pretend to be one of those coffee freaks found around the city I do believe I know how i like mine, and I thought the Long Mach was above average without blowing my socks off. Now thats the food done, I think an equal draw card is the décor and the overall ambiance set here. The different chairs at each table, plants, fish ponds, peacocks roaming freely all combine to make a really quirky and eccentric place to be(all for the good). So in summary a nice brunch and coffee that was lifted by a genuinely nice place to hang out, without being overrun by other patrons. Food 7.5÷10 Service 7.10 Décor 8.5÷10
