Caffe Acqua

Hidden in a shopping Centre this is a great place to pop in for some great simple fair. Service is good, meals are a good size and very tasty. Highly recommended to all.

I’ve never dined in here as I always do lunch takeaways. Big fan of their pizzas, salt and pepper squid and their chicken salad. Service is always quick and with a smile.
Kid friendly and spacious to host a big gathering. The caffe is located next to Mount Barker Central, so dig in and enjoy your shopping.

Caffe Acqua is almost identical to Caffe Primo. The meals are relatively cheap, but frankly you get what you pay for. The meals are large and the service is ok.

firstly — lots of space — nice open atmosphere — newspapers and magazines available for reading.
The menu is varied but the quality of food was below what I expected. I ordered the surf and turf (medium rare). The steak was cooked as requested, but was quite tough considering the $ 26.90 that I paid, though there were a decent number of prawns and they were cooked nicely as were the chips.
They seem to suffer the same fate as other local restaurants (e.g.: Fasta Pasta) with their deserts which are not made in house. It seems to be the same supplier at various places I’ve been to and the deserts are extremely sugary and not particularly nicely made. In this case I had the Banana Caramel Pie but the caramel was more like a sickly, chalky vanilla fudge and there was barely any banana in it. I voiced my disappointment and ordered a gelatti to get rid of the taste and was further disappointed that there was no offer made to reimburse for the poor quality food or even to provide a complimentary scoop of gellati.
Not a place I would hurry back to.
