The mocha is gooood. The coffee is quite strong but tasty. The sourdough is dough and scrumptious and it came with plenty of avocado and butter making it a healthy gorge. The piece of banana bread was sweet and huge — the biggest we’ve ever been served. Eggs are free range, bacon is gluten free. Menu picks are the Spinach and Provolone cheese frittata($ 9.50), Lemon Polenta cake, Banana Smoothie($ 5.80) and the Passion and Banana Cake($ 4). Toilets are through the kitchen and down a long hall that feels more like an underground cave come bin room — dripping walls and all. The staff are busy but sweet. I love the red feature wall scattered with the local artist’s work for sale on the walls. Flowers on the tables are fresh. Light and airy with comfy chairs.

The Avenue Road corner in Mosman is kind of a secret retreat from Military Road — a bit more like your corner store selection, with a green grocer, small independent supermarket, newsagent and pharmacy, plus parking that is a darn sight easier than its Military Road peer. The Vale is a popular coffee stop right on the roundabout, with tables overflowing onto the pavement, usually filled with coffee sipping customers. Fairtrade coffee is its staple, and it has chosen a delicious and reliable brew. Friendly staff who seem to know half their customers by name(hoping to join this club!), and what my daughter swears are«the best chocolate brownies in Sydney». After all the research she’s been doing, she ought to know!
