Fantastic place for men wanting a great quick cut, all seem to be trained to the same level so no matter who you get(there are no appointments) you will receive the same level of quality in your cut. Highly recommend this place

If you’re a male between the ages of Alive and Not Alive then this place is for you! I’ve had my hair cut twice here now, and it’s fantastic! The atmosphere here is exciting, and the haircuts are sweet! Make sure you pay a visit to them! Ps I’ve had James both times– he knows what he’s doing, and it looks like they all do too!

If you’re looking for a slick 50s cut, or genuine rockabilly quiff, this is the place to go. These guys really know their stuff, and take a great deal of pride in their work. They don’t rush through it, they take their time, resulting in a real detailed cut. There’s a genuinely relaxed vintage/punk vibe, with some inspired music and only about a 10 minute wait, even on a busy day. I highly recommend.

Best haircut I’ve ever had. No 2 week wait on a shit haircut growing out like every other haircut I’ve had. Although they’re extremely busy(and it’s obvious why) they never rush through a haircut. Well worth the wait and cost. I’ll be back again… and again.

If you have ever questioned why there are so many men with dapper haircuts walking around Morningside, Bare Bones Barber Shop is the answer you were looking for. Décor: Rockabilly, punk, skate. Posters of Johnny Cash, The Ramones and 50s-80s miscellany cover the walls. Music to match. The register counter and the wall-shelves appear to be handmade. Space: Inside the shop is small, but not too squashed. Six barber stations, a three-seater bench for waiting customers, plus a wooden bench outside for customer overflow. Services: Haircuts! Bare Bones specialises in dapper 50s haircuts — slick backs, quiffs, pompadours — as well as standard cuts. They excel in tapering and shaving. Beard trims are done here, too. Cost: A standard haircut will set you back approximately $ 25-$ 30. If you are spending less than this on a quahaircut elsewhere, you probably look terrible. I have no idea how much other services cost because I am not a very hirsute man. Bare Bones also sells a range of Uppercut hair products, as well as their own line of shirts and hoodies. Service: All of the barbers here are extremely friendly and experienced. It doesn’t hurt that they are all also very attractive. Be warned, however: there is almost always a significant wait time, no matter day or time. Expect to wait anywhere up to 45 minutes to an hour in peak hour to get your hair cut. The wait can be long, but when it is your turn, you can rest assured that you have their full attention. Appointments after hours(from 5pm) can be made, if waiting isn’t your thing.

Have you ever wondered were the cool cats into rockabilly music with sleeve tattoos and big ear plug piercings go to get their flat top haircuts? Right here, at this vintage/punk inspired barber shop. At $ 25 for a full haircut it’s more than I’d usually pay, but I have gone in and gotten a beard trim(back in the beardy days) and a neck shave for just $ 13 combined. I dig that kind of old-school pricing where you can get a couple of minor things done. The shop itself is awesomely decked out with skateboard gear, checkerboard tiles and a sweet graphic of a boxer(who could well be called ‘Gentleman Jim’) on the front shop window. Looking sharp!
