Walrus Inn

What a walrus has to do with sushi is anyone’s guess, but thats not the point!
The point is, that Walrus Inn do good quality, fresh sushi when and where you want it — in downtown Moonee Ponds! The sushi is of high quality, tastes good and is served by friendly people who are always cheerful.
All the usual suspects are there such as tuna, smoked salmon, raw salmon, terriyaki chicken, avacado etc and of course they do those boxes with a selection of sushi-​type treats.
There are tables to sit down and dine al fresco, but it is also perfect if you want to dine on the hop — and if so, there is a bin conveniently placed 3 – 4 metres away so when you finish your sushi, you can get rid of the packaging, rubber band and sauce in the fish container that you dont use…
A great little sushi place and one that I almost never walk past without buying something!!! My kids love it too and always want something too!

As far as take away food goes, it doesn’t get classier or more gourmet than Walrus Japanese. The Walrus Inn is a delightful little restaurant, the inside of the restaurant is a place you don’t mind dining in at, although it’s quite cosy and they are popular so eating in sometimes is not as easy as it sounds.
You can’t walk past the ample array of sushi and bento boxes. If you’re not too keen on seafood or raw fish, the variety of hand rolls will have you salivating; chicken terriyaki and vegetarian are the two variants I’ve sampled and they are delicious.
Walrus Japanese also serve up fried fast food faves like dim sims, dumplings and spring rolls. Great food I’ve come to trust, always fresh with fast and friendly service. As far as Japanese and sushi goes, this IS as good as it gets! AND they open at 7:00am so you’re able to drop in and grab your lunch before the daily grind.
