Melanoma Scan

Fair skin, freckles and red hair. They’re all prime elements for melanoma and skin cancer when your country of residence also happens to be Australia. Even with a healthy dose of slip, slop, slap our harsh UV Rays leave our skin prone to all kinds of damage.
And in an effort to be a responsible adult I booked in for a mole scan. 20 mins, a fan dangled light contraption and a nod from the doctor and I was on my way. As simple as that for an all clear. A small effort to ensure there’s no mutant moles or villainous skin cancer cells congregating.
Fair skinned or not, it’s worth pencilling this check up in every few years even just for peace of mind.
Pro Tip; some of the doctors still bulk bill.

Living under an Australian sun there is a brutal reality that we have to face about our skin. Fortunately Melanoma Scan is there to keep an eye on things and catch out any untoward cells that have decided to change their appearance without much notice.
I found the whole experience very comfortable and easy. Open from 8.30am, located in the Brookside Shopping Centre, the team at Melanoma Scan were lovely and helpful. No referral is needed, just book in advance. Some of the Doctors do offer bulk billing, but not all so make sure you check when you make your appointment. They also do the procedures to remove anything abnormal if need be.
At $ 65 for a consultation with a medicare rebate of $ 37 I was happy to know that my skin all checked out and those moles and marks on my back are not doing anything that they’re not supposed to.
I’d definately recommend checking yourself out with these guys.
