Cheap and big serves had schnitzel chips and gravy all under $ 10 and was very nice. With it being open 24 hours is perfect for people like me who love a feed anytime of the day. From pies to shashlik sausages to chocolate donuts these stores have something for all.

Food is usually ok. Staff are always grumpy, rude, and generally don’t care. Always busy. Not enough seating. The line up system just does t work as people always jump in front. I’d avoid this place.

After the failure that was St. Georges Bakery on Kensington Rd, we sallied forth on our quest for food. It was getting rather pressing now, as we were all hungry, and it was hot out, and the traffic seemed to have multiplied. Plus roadworks. Everywhere, roadworks. It’s like they breed or something. Anyway, FINALLY, after much discussion and driving, we ended up at Café de Vilis. Now, I used to live around the corner from here, so I had a good idea of how much variety the place has, but it’s been a while since I’ve visited and it’s grown quite considerably in terms of offerings on the menu board. Plus, the airconditioning is amazing. This is a necessary concern in our summer. So now that we were somewhere that had food, that wasn’t denying patrons sandwiches or rolls for reasons unknown, a place that had pies and pasties that didn’t look as if they were about to shrivel and die, a place with a HUGE choice, we were suddenly wondering that age old question, «What do we want to eat?» Spying the magical word ‘yiros,’ I knew what I was having and this was a delicious yiros, with loads of garlic sauce and the meat was tender and juicy, the flat bread was fresh and soft. Overall, in my opinion, a fantastic choice. One of my companions had been wanting a toasted ham, cheese and tomato sandwich, and when she got it, she was delighted – the tomato, I’m told, tasted like a tomato, the ham was great and the cheese was nicely melted. My other companion went for the burger with the lot, which came with a side of golden and crisp chips, which she generously shared. And they were fabulous. The burger itself… well, they weren’t joking about it being ‘the lot’! THIS is a burger. Meat, bun, egg, sauce, beetroot, cheese, bacon, onion, lettuce, tomato, all on a bun. The staff were great too, helpful and friendly, and the prices weren’t too bad for a café on the outskirts of the CBD. If you’re looking for variety and good service, then you can’t really go wrong here.

It happens to all of us. We use the drunk excuse when we regret doing something. Yes, this place will rescue you in a pinch because it is always open. One late night, I went there –sober — because I was hungry and was the only place open. Asked for a pie, it was plastic wrapped(Balfours?), put in a bag and handed over. I think the Bakery on O’Connell has better quality pastries. This was a sad pie. And a sad customer.

really bad. the chips are always undercooked, garlic bread is burnt, rice is raw, the pasties and pies are really spicy, I swear to god this place was good before bug now is terrible. it always happens to me and I have heard everyone else gets it cooked properly. plus I’m only 14 and other people my age sometimes get undercooked food why does this bills always pick on younger people?:(I hope the new vilis is better because I want to give it 5 stars but I can’t because the food is bad … if you have young ones don’t take them to mile end vilis…

Cursed with a boyfriend who’s addicted to late night grub,(grub is a fantastic word), we come here occasionally boozed up or otherwise unfortunately sober. Very hectic, I feel unsouthaustralian about my feelings toward this place. Being vego maybe I just don’t get its cafeteria style charm but boy my boyfriend does. The plastic seats, the rowdiness, the dirty tables yet I cant help but be dragged here every few months at ungodly hours. Apparently the pies are good, the chips were okay. Just not my jam but Im sure if you want girlfriend points you should hit this place up. Go aussie go, points for the awesome trading hours!

So many evenings spent here with friends and family. Being one of the few places open 24 hours a day 7 days a week in adelaide it was the easy choice when we wanted a later night. With such a variety in food choices from full meals to the usual pastries and cakes there is something for everyone. Plenty of drink choices too. Service is always good with no long wait times. Be sure to remember this place for a late night stop.

It was 4 in the morning when I ventured here, the schitnzel burger was so good and the chips were crunchy– just how I like them. It took a while but I guess that’s to be expected at that time of the morning

Yes… Yep… Sure… OK… Not a problem… If only life were like a giant Café de Vili’s! A bit drunk? That’s OK. Half-dressed? Sure. Wearing a tiger suit, or carrying a cello? That’s fine by Vili’s. Truly, this place is freedom personified, or should that be corporatised. Just a bowl of gravy, no chips? Coming right up. Are you getting the idea? The vibe here is that you get what you want. Huge, flexible menu, plenty of room, cheerful staff and happy customers 24⁄7. There are certainties here — the food is fresh and pretty cheap. Another certainty is the cross-section of your fellow citizens you’ll find here. Students, families, shift workers, tradies, symphony orchestra players, businessmen, football teams, random night owls — anyone who is hungry and likes the Vili’s trademark of fresh, tasty food served without unnecessary fuss. That would be about 95% of us, by my guess. Viva Vili’s!

This place is amazing! It’s open 24hours and the food is soo yummy. There are heaps of seats if you want to sit down or you can takeaway. There is an enormous range of food here chips, tiros, burgers, donuts and other bakery foods and heaps of sit down meals. This place has the best chips. Don’t be put off if there is a big queue there are always loads of staff and the queue moves fast.

Heard a lot about this place and have wanted to go for a while now. Finally got around to trying this place out. Have a good range of food all day breakfast, pies, cakes, and more also serves beer and it is 247 so can go when ever you feel like food or drink. The place was big and had a outside area too. The place can get busy, espesally at lunch time. Will be back and it is great that its open 24 hours, so can go anytime…

I have lived in Adelaide for 5 years and have constantly been told to try this place out! Finally got around to that this weekend… Where to go for brekkie after 11am… Now I have the perfect answer! Serving their complete menu of brekkie, lunch, pies — yes even a pie floater — snacks, cakes, coffee and even beer 24⁄7! The café is presented exactly as I like… Nothing pretentious or trying to be clever! You get simple tables with simple chairs squeezed into the inside and outdoor areas! The food we had was great the big brekkie was exactly that… And the prices were great! When we went it was relatively quiet but the lunch crowd was building… At one point the counter was 5⁄6 deep in people! I will be back… Whether its brekkie, dinner or a post night out!

Are you drunk? Or is it really late and you’re REALLY hungry? Then Villi’s is for you. I can’t write the most extensive review here as all I have ever ordered is a bag of chips. Great value though $ 4.50 will get you a huge serve of hot chips(enough to share) and they are so yummy, and yes I have tried them without having a drink prior. The wait here is usually not too bad, there will often be a large number of people queuing but the staff are efficient as well as friendly. Would recommend for a late night snack or a daytime greasy fix, and you can go anytime as it’s 24⁄7!

Whether it’s post-sporting commitments, post-shift work or post-dinner cravings, you’ll find something you want at this 24⁄7 bakery/café. I’ve only been here once, but it was a fun experience. Me and some netball girls came here for a bite and seemed to have come at the perfect time, as a line up of around 15 people consisting of ambo’s, sports people, tradies and young adults started to build behind us. The staff were friendly but clearly feeling the bite of the ever growing line. I was in a «just feed me everything» mood, and was suggested to try the chips and gravy, and so I did. The chips were crunchy and the gravy was perfect. They have plenty of tables inside, and the place was abuzz with gossiping/chattering individuals. So if you need a serious one-on-one session(say whatever you want, this place won’t discriminate) with your girls and your inner fatty is screaming for gravy, I do suggest this arena. Café de vili’s truly represents the hard-yacca, sport-playing and gossiping personas of SA.

Once I peed next to Vili at the Café de Vili’s urinals. True story. This is like the factory outlet for the Vili’s bakery. Open 24⁄7. If it’s been awhile since you’ve been, or you’ve never been, put this place on your radar. It’s good for lunch(under $ 10) or a late night feed. And it’s as South Aussie as it gets. I take overseas visitors here to show them South Aussies crushing pies and getting FUIC(ed)(Farmers Union Iced Coffee) up. 80s vibes, brushed aluminum housing tinted glass. Vili’s is an oasis in a bit of a food desert part of town. And on a hot day, with the aircon blowing, it’s a straight up oasis from the desert. So popular that at lunch there’s an employee directing traffic in the parking lot. If you’re into steak sandwiches, the steak burger comes with chips where the steak sandwich doesn’t. It’s less than a buck difference. As a heads up though, the burger also comes with eggs and bacon so it’s a formidable opponent. For anyone still sitting on the fence they also sell 60-cent donuts and booze.

This place is a crazy novelty — and a great one to say that we have. Guess what, everywhere else, we have a 24⁄7 Vili’s in Adelaide! Located in a dodgy looking warehouse, aesthetics aren’t something that really come into any mind when you think of Vili’s, and thats part of what makes it great. The main times I have been there have been at about 3 am(any night) out of boredom or a few too many beverages. This place attracts everyone — classy seniors after a night at the Festival centre, dressed to the 9’s, football fans, drunk teens, bogans and people just after a little midnight adventure. All the pastry food you would like, followed by all the sweet donuts/cakes you can think of. They do main meals(burgers etc), chips and just sandwiches if you want them. There are heaps of drinks fridges with everything you can imagine including the staple Farmers Union range. Only problem is — there is always a long line with no order to it — so there is often a little bit of pushing in. There always seems to be low staff numbers too — and the guy who last made my chicken lettuce and mayo roll really seemed to struggle with the concept. Other then that and the really crappy ATM, this place is cool. Especially if you’re into people watching. Some really interesting things happen in there. I’ve seen one of the best mullets i’ve ever seen in Vilis. Yeah. Aussie.

Ahhh, the joy of a 24⁄7 eatery. This is the place that will save your ass at 4am when you’re about to pass out from starvation and alcoholism. When I was a teenager this was the only 24 hour food joint in Adelaide. It’s not in the city, but it is nearby and tacked onto the Vilis factory. Originally just a small outlet it now ressembles the love child of an American style diner and an Aussie truck stop. I’ve never been one to eat a meat pie(*gasp*, how unAustralian I hear you cry!) but I have eaten a few here in my time under the influence and have found them to be DELICIOUS. I mostly like that they have exciting flavours like Hungarian Goulash and Chicken and mushroom, with big chunks of chicken in it. My absolute favourite A No 1 thing from here, however, is the chips and gravy… never a tastier, saltier, more appropriate delicacy have I consumed. If you don’t have time for the sit down sort, the hot chips in a bag are also drool worthy. I’m not into sweet treats as much, I’m sure you can tell, I’m a salt and grease girl but this is also where it’s at for classics such as Finger buns, berliners, donuts, kitchener buns, apple /apricot turnovers and vanilla slices.

I’ve been to Villi’s a few times in my day. The first time was when my high school amigo got his license and kidnapped me in the wee hours in the morning. Café de Villi’s is an annex of the Villi’s company location. Open all hours for you cake and pastry needs. Hearty treats are on offer straight from the belly of the beast so to speak. Grab a donut or a custard tart accompanied with an Iced Coffee for the full South Australian experience. Or option some of the wholesome chips, schintzels, or burgers. Be prepared for a line up during the peak hours and sometimes on Saturday nights. Also be the most brilliant host by getting Villi’s to cater. Have a plethora of those patented miniature pies and sausage rolls for everyone to dig into.

LOVELOVELOVE! Although it is rather expensive, even just for a double cut roll it’s expensive. But for a whole meal it’s not too badly priced. Weird? The Café is usually always packed out. On weekends it is ridiculously packed. They will have over a dozen staff on at one time, it’s unbelievable. Price aside, the best things about Café de Vili’s; 1) It’s close to the city easy access for all location 2) It’s massive range which is very tasty 3) It’s open 24⁄7 — NEVER closed!!! 4) They stock everything all the time and it’s always fresh — baked right out the back in the factory 5) It serves any meal anytime — so you can get breakfast at 3pm or dinner at 9am if you want. Great for shiftworkers and taxi drivers can often be seen here 6) They even employ a praking attendant there now it is just that popular! You HAVETOTRY their Viliburger. It comes with chips. It is so huge that even if you squish it down you still can’t fit the whole thing in your mouth. And it has beetroot — I love beetroot on a burger — So Aussie! The egg is always perfect and they make their own meat patties that taste fantastic and are thick and big. You won’t be able to fit dessert in after eating one of these, if you even can finish it. But grab a matchstick to take home and have later… yummmmm!!!
