Purchased a turtle ‘starter kit’ from Mentone Aquarium (tank, stand, filter, heater, UVB globe etc). Purchased fish from their suggestion and most died within a week. Have had to upgrade 90% of the kit as it really isn’t suitable for keeping a turtle. Totally understand we purchased a starter kit but would have been more inclined to spend a bit more to get the best set up for the turtle. Now we have two filters, two UVB globes and a heap of new replacement fish. Had to buy a stronger filter as the kit one was just not good enough but wasn’t told to keep the sponge within the filter and put in the new filter. This meant we had to basically start again. It has plenty of stock and a great range — just a bit disappointed with the supposed ‘knowledge’ of the staff. Just recommend shopping around before starting a new turtle tank. and don’t necessarily go for the cheapest as it won’t be long before you need to upgrade.
