I hate sales and I hate them so vociferously that I would rather pay full whack — in fact I’d pay a premium — to browse boutiques with a range of sizes and without the often pandemonium of sale time. That said, I love a bargain. The answer? Outlet shops. And Spencer Street Station in the heart of the city boasts some of the best. If, like me you love Witchery but loathe this classy Aussie label’s sometimes egregious price tags then the brand’s outlet store within Spencer Street Fashion Station — i.e. right next door to Southern Cross Railway Station — is the place to go. Stocking not only a capsule collection of current season stock, but rail upon rail of heavily discounted samples, overstock and past season’s pieces, the Witchery outlet store within Spencer Street is one of the best. It’s also a great destination if you’re after out of season stock — i.e. if you need some summer sandals in the depths of winter — and are at a bit of a loss. Great all round.
