Tucked amongst the bars, cafes and adventure stores is Wilkins and Kent.
I love this place. If I could I would move in, climb into the bed in the window and start reading through all the little books and play with the delicate toys.
Since my reality is far different from what I would do, I will have to be content with browsing their gorgeous shelves full of gifts and homewares.
If you are looking for something a little quirkier than normal, then this is a wonderful place to search for gifts, particularly if your intended recipient is a baker, gardener or lover of all things pretty.

I must confess. I am completely addicted to cute stationary. That means that I can’t walk down Little Bourke St without popping in to add another cute notebook to my collection.
This store has some lovely stationary and even lovelier homewares/​furniture. The latter is out of my price range, but lovely to look at. Nice gift store that is conveniently close for a spot of quick lunch time shopping.
