It’s actually quite hilarious how we ended up at Welcome Stranger but after a big night of drinking someone in the clan had an urge to have a gamble and instead of starting a massive adventure to crown we settled for this seemingly settled for this 24 hour gambling drinking hole. The venue itself isn’t that bad i guess it’s just the crowd that attracts the stigma. The crowd was definitely strange, a mix of older gentlemen who didn’t want to go home and crazy younglings like us who somehow ended up here. The night called for pub food and luckily enough Welcome Stranger had food available for us at any time of the night. We chowed down on the meals and left happy campers. The venue is really not as bad as some people say it is but there is definitely a stigma but this place is a drunken crowd pleaser.

Yes, I have been to this filthy, 24-hour gaming pub. Do I regret it? Hell no! After a long night’s work in the city, all my co-worker and I wanted was a decent meal and a pot of beer. But where can you get that at 2am in the middle of the city? Other than McDonald’s or KFC your options are pretty limited. I hesitantly suggested Welcome Stranger, and off we went! At 2am we got ourselves a parma, a steak and a few appetisers(we were very hungry.) The food was fine, although perhaps my taste buds were skewed considering it was so late, and the beer was cold so I was happy. The crowd is not as gross as you may imagine, it seemed to be full of people just like us — those wanting a decent meal and a relaxing atmosphere. TV’s line the wall with the latest news or game playing and the music is simply background. I’m not sure what Welcome Stranger is like during the day, and I admit it was a little sad being there, but hey! At 2am if you’re craving a parma you now know where to head!
