SumoSalad

This little food stand in the QV Center food court is terrific for a healthy and inexpensive quick picker-​upper. I rarely eat in the food court when I’m shopping at the QV; however, on a couple of occasions that I was in the mood for a bit o’ nosh, of all the food joints to choose from, I tend to end-​up at SumoSalad. Their variety of fresh salads’ display always looks great. The staff is always friendly and helpful with questions. Personally, I’ve never had a bad meal there! I highly recommend SumoSalad if you’re a bit hungry after all that shopping — or, maybe, you need a bit of energy to DO all that shopping!!! :D

SumoSalad offers three sizes of containers and each allows you to pick three salads. I tried to pick three salads that had similar taste profiles so I didn’t end up with some weird, unsatisfying combination. I can’t remember exactly what I ordered (and their website keeps redirecting me to the USA version that has no information on it so I can’t view the menu).
I do remember I chose two different salads that had smoked salmon in them and another salad that was vegetarian and had pumpkin in it. One of the salmon salads was a caesar salad and I was worried the lettuce would be wilted by the time I ate it (which would be in a couple of hours). But I am happy to report that it held up pretty well.
There was so much flavor in each of the salads and they all worked really well together. I got the small and that was plenty for a dinner. Even thinking about it now, I’m craving it — too bad it’s a 14 hour flight away! If I lived anywhere close to a SumoSalad, I’d definitely be a frequent visitor!

Someone gave me a voucher so I decided to try the Large Sumo bowl. Turned out that the voucher was only valid for a select few kinds of salads & only for medium size. The waiter who took my order didn’t bother telling me this when I first showed my voucher and chose my salad. Only found out when I paid, by then it was too late to do anything (except to give them a bad review) but pay full price. What a rip off. My spicy chicken salad was also a bit wet & not very tasty. Will definitely stay away.
