Every night of the week there is a deal for you! Strike is a good go to when entertaining a group of people or breaking the ice on a first date. You can serenade your date or work colleagues in the karaōke room or show how the apple didn’t fall far from the tree in escapism. Ohhh and theres bowling and drink specials. How can you go wrong?

As far as bowling bars go, strike is definitely one of the more popular ones. It has a decent drink list, and there are bowling lanes(obviously) although the way that the lanes are laid out is a bit weird, with the first four lanes in one part of the space and the rest behind the karaōke and escape rooms. We actually came here because we had a birthday surprise planned for one of our party by doing the escape room, only when we got in on a Thursday night they were running behind by over an hour. We were given a free bowling game while we waited(all the while the birthday girl thought her surprise activity was bowling), although we were easily done with that before it was time to go into the escape room. We were also told that we would be in in 15, 7 and 5 minutes but ended up waiting way more than that. I think we ended up going into a room around 9:45 or so, for an 8:30 booking. The escape room was pretty pricey – about $ 150 all up for being locked in a dusty room for 50 minutes. I’m not sure that I liked the formats of these rooms; you don’t have a good sense of the time and we had barely made it through one room when we had 5 mins left. Overall I wasn’t thrilled with the long wait, and the customer service was lacking. We were told to go and bowl while we waited but nobody checked in on us, and when we went to the counter to ask when we’d be going in we were shuffled from table to table by different staff members. Quite disappointing, for the amount we paid for the experience.

Strike bowling q.v. has some good specials on drinks & games espec midweek but. The nightclub lighting disguises the fact that place is not clean and cheesy dance music is SOLOUDYOUCANTTALK! if you’re over 30 you probably won’t enjoy bowling here

After undergoing a renovation, Strike Bowling now has much more than just drinks and bowling to offer… they have ESCAPEROOMS! I was lucky enough to test out one of these escape rooms, the new bar and the food. Next time you are having a party, organise it at Strike and they will take good care of you! The escape rooms have different themes and was mind boggling, the bar served fantastically refreshing drinks and for food I tested out vegetarian nachos, fish & chips(crispy!), and mini chicken parma’s. Will have a celebration here soon!

Stopped into Strike the other arvo with a mate to play some air hockey. I don’t know why more places don’t have air hockey — it beats foosball hands down. Anyway, Strike has a couple of tables and it’s $ 2 for a game(first to 50 points) which for us lasted about 10 minutes. We played a few games and got outta there — didn’t have a drink or anything — so it was a quick and cheap stop, but that’s the good thing about Strike, I guess: you don’t have to be bowling and it doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Great place to stop for air hockey. Air hockey!

Bowling is usually something we associate with childhood or alternative team sports. Well, sometimes, when you add alcohol, things become a lot more adult. Strike bowling bar exists to serve those who enjoy moving around instead of drinking at a table. It’s loud and bright. Bright in that it’s actually dark down there, but all the neon’s make you think that you’ve lost a little bit of Melbourne and have found yourself tumbling into a little bit of ‘Tron.‘ I know a few people who have had their staff Christmas parties/end of year drinks here and I can understand why. Nothing’s a better ice breaker then giving people something to do apart from awkwardly make conversation around a circle table that’s too small for the amount of people you have and the location too specific for everyone’s tastes. So distracting a group by shoving heavy plastic balls in their hands and telling them to throw it at pins suddenly gives everyone an equal ground and a topic to talk and mingle over. I came here for a launch once and they had a band playing above the lanes, which was novel. If you want to go out, but aren’t sure just what it is you want to do, and you’re in a playful mood, Strike would be a good place to get going.

Centrally located on Little Lonsdale Street underneath QV, Strike Bowling offers some fun times ahead. A group of 20 of us decided we would go bowling. Whilst I can bowl sober, bowling drunk is slightly more fun! So off to Strike Bowling, which offers a full bar and fancy lights and music. There was a lot of neon lighting going on; it was almost sickening, but it all goes together. On a Sunday, one game cost $ 14. This is quite steep for bowling, but I find that bowling in Melbourne is quite expensive. In the end, we had a great time. With 20 of us, we only had the attention span for one game so the cost remained low. I wouldn’t go to Strike Bowling often — their drinks are mediocre and the music sucks — but once in awhile, it’s quite fun.

Strike Bowling Bar is my personal version of hell. Overpriced, overdone drinks? Check! LOUD, aggressive music coupled with obnoxious lasers? Yep! Expensive, overrated bowling? You got it! This is the kind of place I avoid at all costs– but, if you love bowling and drinking enjoyed simultaneously, you will probably love Strike.

Ah Strike, you combine my two biggest loves, drinking and bowling! Not exactly a cheap night out, but bowling is generally expensive anyway so I’m happy to pay the little bit extra to drink and dance while I bowl. Great option for birthdays, or just a night out with friends. It does tend to get very busy so either book or get their early.

Strike Bowling bar is bowling with a difference. Bowling is not just a game, it is an experience. So what to expect from Strike? 1) copious amounts of alcohol, 2) pumping music, 3) lots of bright lights 4) djs on friday and saturday night 5) a private karaōke room The QV location is as good as any and I don’t know a better place to go bowling. If you are looking to bowl for cheap then you can look on their website and Facebook page for a number of specials that occur quite frequently. For example, if you like their Facebook Page during October you can bowl for $ 5 Monday through Thursday. They are all over the special deals and social media so take advantage of it. Happy rolling!
