My husband and I have a wedding coming up and he wanted to get a new suit. Excited, we headed off to Melbs Central last weekend to have a look around. Excitement soon turned to disappointed when after about five stores and three hours, we were no where closer to finding anything suitable that he liked that was affordable. I mean it was really hard to find a suit, anywhere, for under $ 300 and when we did they were shit. We were going to walk straight past Saxony. The shining ebony floors, curved architecture and wall to wall mirrors, combined with the couture like fashions and lavish looking suits all stood for one thing: out of our league. But we were desperate and we there anyway, so we walked in. Straight away my spirits lifted as the sales assistants greeted us with a really friendly welcome. They weren’t pushy, but made sure we knew they were there when we needed. They were having a sale on selected styles at the time, but even reduced items were really nice. Anyway, to cut a long story short my husband found a really nice, high quality suit. The guy and girl that were on that day were just fantastic and even threw in a tie of my hubby’s choice for free. This boutique looks seriously up market and the actual design of the store should be applauded. Saxony proves you don’t need to charge $ 500 or more to have an exquisite, high end label. And the customer service — BRILLIANT! I didn’t get to pay too much attention to the womens fashion, but it did look like there was a lot more on offer for men. All clothing, suits, casual clothes, men’s and women’s wear is dark and edgy, so if you’re not into that sort of thing you might not like it. But the suits, all of them, are terrific.
