Pomodoro Sardo is a modern Italian Sardinian cooking with a focus on superb ingredients, impeccably sourced and handled with care and simplicity.

Dinning at Pomodoro Sardo is relaxed but smart, with welcoming, professional service.

We offer fine Italian food and our signature dish is wood oven pizza. We only use fresh ingredients and old recipes. We a are located in the heart of the city at 118 Lonsdale and our aim is to create an environment inspired by the «Italian Sardinian table» where people relax, share, and enjoy each other’s company.

Stopped by for lunch and it was amazing. I had the spaghetti aglio olio. Had the perfect amount of spice. Maybe the best I’ve had. The kids destroyed the marguerite pizza so is say they approved. My wife had the linguine and the seafood was fresh and it came covered in dough which was cut open when served. Great. Would love to try it again

A fantastically homely establishment that specialises in hearty, delicious Sardinian cuisine. Rustic oven-​fired pizzas are a highlight, and the pasta menu is also extensive. I’m looking forward to some winter returns to savour another delicious taste of Italy.

One of the best pizzas I have ever had and that means a lot coming from me! I know my pizzas and I love pizza this place is awesome, authentic Italian wood fired pizza. And the gnocchi were amazing! Unfortunately tonight our last night in Melbourne but we will be coming back next time we are in Melbourne!

Recommended by another Marriott hotel guest, we went there as it was right around the corner. Food was excellent — the pasta, pizza (turned my wife into an appreciator of thin-​crust pizza… Yay!) were fresh and delicious. Salad was over-​drenched in olive oil, so did not enjoy that. Service depended upon the staff person — general feeling is that they are not able to keep up with the number of tables. Ours was not very attentive, from someone used to American service — didn’t check on whether we needed anything, and got busy so we had to ask for the check at the register. But another server was on top of things at her table. Suggestion for owner is (a) tell Marriott staff to recommend them, (b) give the chefs a big pat on the back, and © watch the service quality — if they want to get 5-​star reviews.

Had a lovely meal here, with very friendly service from the staff. All the food had perfectly balanced flavours and of course a nice affogato for dessert was crucial. The menu was smaller than some but everything included was unique and attractive.
Will definitely be back here.

We came here for dinner on Christmas Eve and had a nice time. Inside seating is pretty large and the restaurant goes back farther than you think.
Service was quick and food was tasty. I had a sausage pizza and while there was no red sauce on it (should have asked!) it was still quite good and I devoured all of it.
I had the crème bule for dessert and it was delicious! Very creamy and big enough to split between 2 people.
Would love for them to have more appetizer options, but overall a nice meal and would def go back.
