The hotel is reasonable. The rooms are clean and well-furnished. The staff is friendly enough. It is conveniently situated. This should be three stars, right? Where they lose out completely is the terrible, abysmal, 1995-called-and-asked-for-the-9600-baud-modem-back type godawful internet connectivity. Doing a simple wget half an hour ago got me 1.5Kbps. The night before was just as bad. It is impossible to be productive. Forget about any sort of online conferencing. Even getting the google homepage mostly results in an ERR_CONNECTION_RESET. Even as I type this, the little«saving» logo in the lower right corner of the text entry box is spinning continuously, not being able to keep up with my typing. And they have the temerity to charge money for this sort of crappy service. I wish I could give less than the one star. I will be back in Melbourne again and again for business, and will be sure to avoid this hotel like the plague.

Good clean rooms in spacious apartments close to most of the CBD and banking end of Collins St. The building also has a pool and small gym area, and is easy to navigate to if you choose to go for a run along the yarra river(so much better than sticking to a treadmill). Beds are quite firm but comfortable. Furnishings modern. But probably the worst hotel shower I have had in a while. They have located the tap handles about 3m away from the showerhead, and it is low flow, so takes several minutes to get the temperature right. There is a bar/club next door. Could hear punters outside in an ad hoc smoking area, and subwoofer nightclub noise from room unfortunately, bit the music noise would probably only affect you on the lower floors, I was able to sleep. Breakfast rather reasonable for the price, and good to see poached eggs, the usual hot options, pastries, cereals, pancake machine, fresh cut fruit, brewed coffee and juices. $ 16 if you order the night before or $ 20 otherwise. Hotel has Wi-Fi but it’s rather expensive unfortunately, disappointing as other similarly priced properties have it free. A decent place to rest your head in the city.

Perfect. The view from my room, the location, it was clean, service was impeccable. I will definitely be staying here again. I paid $ 507 for 3 nights for a studio apartment over the long weekend.

Gorgeous rooms, very close to the city centre that don’t cost an arm and a leg. What more could you want? I don’t live in a particularly fancy apartment but the rooms here are so spacious that our bathroom was bigger than our living room is at home! The staff are helpful(one even printed our boarding passes for us when we realised we had accidentally thrown them out!). There is a buffet breakfast available but you should book it in the night before to get a discount! The only downside was that they take a $ 150 holding deposit from your credit card on arrival(in case you go all rock star and trash the room) which then took nearly a week to be refunded back.

Really nice place to stay. Close to bourke street mall and swanston street. They also have a heated indoor pool, gym, spa and sauna! Oaks on Market have friendly Staff who don’t mind booking taxi’s, the Skybus or answering any questions you may have. The Facilities are kept very clean and upon arrival my room was a pleasure to walk into. the only complaint i do have for the hotel is that it is next to a building that has a roof top bar so on a Friday and Saturday if you are in a higher level of the building you really hear the music coming from the bar. I did get a little irritated one night as i was really tired but the music kept me awake. the music is not turned off till the early hours of the morning. i think i eventually got to sleep. i would book this hotel again, a little noise pollution from neighbours hasn’t really deterred me from staying there again.

Clean and in a good location. Close to lots of public transport options, trams out front, Flinders Street station close by. Just a short walk to Burke St Mall, Melbourne’s famous lane ways, Federation Square and those places people go to watch sports. Me recommendation is to pull up Unilocal and scan for good places to eat. We found several tucked away near by including Movida for tapas and sangria, and Hardware Societe for breakfast.
