Melbourne Fat & Cellulite Reduction

I went for laser hair removal. This is a cheap and nasty place. NO ambience at all.
Unlike other laser treatment clinics I’ve been to, this was the worst in terms of aesthetics and service. Like, no towel to cover me during very exposing treatment (extended bikini area!), and using a cheap and nasty coles bottle of ‘after sunburn’ gel with all kinds of nasty additives in it on me after the laser treatment. But, that’s not the worst thing!
Unfortunately the girl I got last night was brand new, it was her first day on the job. Worse, she’d never been a beautician before, and had never had IPL or laser herself cos it was ‘too painful’!?
Apparently her boss left her and another staff member to fend for themselves with all the appointments, and she expected the poor girl to take my appointment solo. She hadn’t even started the IPL/​laser course yet!
I was NOT happy, and especially worried because we’re talking about a sensitive area here! So we dragged in the other staff member out of HER appointment, who was friendly but clearly stressed. She quickly showed the girl how to do it by doing half and then left her to do the other half. I don’t know if it was done well or not yet… it was unusually red, but calmed down later so I guess I’ll see the results in a week or so.
There is an Australian standard on Safe use of lasers in health care (AS/​NZS 4173:2004) but it’s not a law (yet) and it only recognises that all personnel using and handling lasers should have training appropriate to the task they perform. Clearly they don’t care about that here!

Located upstairs in the Paramount Retail Centre, The Fat and Cellulite Reduction Clinic offers a wide variety of both fat reduction services as well as IPL hair removal. The studio itself is quite small, but they have about 5 or 6 different consultation rooms available at any one time, and plenty of capable and friendly beauticians on staff to help out. I recently went to this clinic for my first IPL treatment, being the first time I had undergone this procedure I was only allowed to have a test patch done to test the areas for their reactions. My therapist was lovely and make me feel 100% comfortable whilst undergoing the treatment. She explained everything to me as she did it so there were no nasty surprises or unwelcome pain. Being open everyday during the week an by appointment on Saturday’s I was able to rebook my next treatment only a few days later, no waiting months and months to get it.
I would definitely recommend The Fat and Cellulite Reduction Clinic to anyone wanting IPL or any other offered treatment.
