For what it is… a reasonably-priced apartment-like longer-stay hotel in the CBD, and close to everything, you can’t go wrong with Mantra. The breakfast buffet is reasonably priced(A$ 24), it’s convenient and has a pretty decent selection, albeit the same, every morning. Some units have combo washers and dryers. If you don’t have one, they are available on two of the floors at, I think, A$ 5. With the exception of the staff at the downstairs restaurant that’s connected via the lobby, the hotel staff is really friendly and accommodating.

While the faculties are fairly nice and the hotel is centrally located there are few issues that would cause me to NOT stay here again: The Internet access charge of $ 25 is obscene The air conditioning is almost non-existant. My room was basically hot and stinky — stay away from this hotel during the summer.

Great centrally located option with well appointed rooms for a good price. We stayed here a few nights in a corner 1 bedroom apartment, which provided plenty of light and a good size living area. Check in was fast, with two desk staff on most of the time service was never a problem, friendly, genuine and efficient without being rushed. The hotel itself is a short walk from Flinders St, Spencer St and Bourke St, and is located in the area of the CBD which houses most of Melbourne’s banks/financial institutions and consulting houses. This ensures you are more likely to enjoy a full nights sleep, whenever you choose to retire for the evening/morning/day. Recommend requesting a high floor, north facing corner room.
