In A Rush

In a rush is great for when you are in a rush. Ahaha good pun! Coffee was made super quick even though there was a queue. The best part is it was delicious coffee yum! Tucked in an alley way of melbourne great location for some of the local cooperate business near by.

I like what they have done with the space here to make it look bigger than it really is with the open plan arrangement they have setup.
The staff were very perky at this early hour which is nice & refreshing to see, It wasn’t to busy so I got my coffee fix within 3 minutes can’t ask for better service than that & the it was really good.

It never seems to be busy here in the mornings and all places around are…
So i’m not quite sure what attracted me to this place then. However I tried this morning, as I saw in the display glass what looked to be a decent breakfast on the go option.
I had a bacon and egg sandwich with a Di Bella coffee. It wasn’t bad at all. For only $ 7 I got a semi decent sandwhich (id add bbq sauce next time) and a semi decent coffee.
Di Bella coffee is really nice, and I am a fan, However it seemed the barista behind it didn’t full understand the machine or the process as the coffee did come out average, but drinkable none the less (and I’m a coffee snob)
I’m still on the lookout for the best on the go breakie spot near this side of the city and this hasn’t hit the mark, but it is better than alot of the rest.

There are several In A Rush soup chains in Melbourne. This particularly one is a café with a proper dining area. Whereas other In A Rush chains I’ve frequent are food stall style cafes located on the street, lane ways or inside a food court.
In A Rush are known for convenient premade hearty soups for less than $ 10. Eat in or take back to your office, it’s your prerogative. If you choose to takeaway, you’ll receive two slices of a baguette, spoon and a napkin with your soup to bring back to the office or wherever you’re heading to. The foam container will keep the soup warm for a while. I certainly don’t like cold soup!
They usually offer between approx 6 – 8 types of soups, some are regular and others aren’t. So if you happen to fall in love with a particular type of soup, it might be not available tomorrow or the next day. In A Rush do limit their soup availability to approx 2 – 3 types of soups during summer.
In my opinion, their soup is a hit or miss. My favourite soups that I regularly get is their pumpkin, Moroccan meat balls or minestone soup. Their soups may not be as good as your mother’s homemade soup or the five star restaurant around the corner, but it’s good enough to satisfy your taste buds and warm your body particularly during the colder months. Also, did I mention «convenient»?
They also offer various salads, focaccias and wraps, which I find are ordinary yet they still manage to be a hit with some people. I suggest you still with their soups. There are better places for salads, focaccias and wraps at a similar or cheaper price. Oh… don’t bother with their coffee because it’s quite ordinary unless you’re not that fussed.

Really nice open plan café. Relaxed vibe inside or you can get your food to go in a rush if you need to.
Had a delicious beef wrap. Would definitely recommend.

This is a huge space, industrially furnished and located amongst the large office triangle of banks buildings — welcome to the neighbourhood In A Rush Espresso.
The name is perfect; being slaves to the man, we are all in a rush to get our food and get out to consume it at our desks. If you are a little luckier and have a time to eat, then you can pull up a seat on the communal table or your own table if that’s not your thing.
There is a huge cabinet of standard lunch fare, with sandwiches, wraps, rotis and salad on offer. Then there’s the soups. There seems to be 10 on offer at any one time.
Add to that the treats and specials that they display on top of the cabinet and you have plenty of choice.
They offer $ 10 takeaway lunch specials, including spanikota and salad, soup and salad, sandwich and drink. Lunch on a budget is always a win.
Coffee wise — they offer Di Bella coffee with 3 blends on offer. Premium, felici and single origin which on the day I visited was from Mexico. I had the single origin as a black and was happy with the way it turned out. Hopefully that’s a rotating roster of guest stars on the single origin.
They also offer things like fresh juices and muffins made in store. So they really cover all bases for a decent lunch.
The place is big enough for group bookings, but definately advisable to ring first, so they can reserve some tables and prep their staff. I think our group of 10 took them by surprise.
All round, a solid offering that’s quite welcome in the little collins street strip. I’ll be back.
