I actually really like the burgers here– the burgers have that Australian taste to them rather than the American trend that is sweeping the city at the moment. These burgers taste fresh and not too heavy. There is a good ratio of beef, lettuce and cheese. They aren’t too cheap, but no burger is now days. Definitely don’t shrug these guys off just cause they are a chain. They do a mean burger.

Grill’d is great. I’ve visited with friends, family and workmates many times over the years, at different Grill’d restaurants — including this one at Southern Cross — and we found the burgers are consistently very good. Hot Mama is a personal favourite because I love large hits of flavour and spice, but I have tried chicken(via the sliders) and lamb as well, and ALL have been delicious.

I tried grill’d about 4 years back and disliked it with a passion, not to mention ouch to my poor wallet! Recently a friend and fellow Unilocaler kept pushing and pushing and insisting grill’d had the best burgers in Melbourne! Excuse me? So after much dragging of my feet I agreed to give grill’d another shot! What a waste of my time, money and taste buds! Ok look that is pretty extreme BUT really there was nothing about my burger that was worth writing home about. The pattie was dry, the bun was so very breadish and THEYDON’T PUTBBQSAUCEONTHEIRBURGERS!!! I mean who doesn’t even stock bbq sauce, specially when you are a burger joint, a burger joint that also does steak sandwiches(you simply do not have either without bbq sauce) You also pay some crazy amount for sweet potato chips, which I totally get but you only receive like 4 – 5 chips… With the current burger craze sweeping through Melbourne there are plenty of better, more affordable burger places to go tantalise your taste buds with!

I love grill’d. Well priced, decent burgers. My old time favorite is the Sumer sunset :). Beef patty with pineapple, avo and salad. Its great. Grill’d also do amazing chips, and mayo chip dip. It is well priced and I always feel value for money when I get grill’d(and i get grill’d alot). I recommend to try it if you haven’t, The chiken burgers are ok, but the beef patties and the vegi patties are amazing.
