At Games Laboratory we provide a clean, well-lit gaming area for gamers of all types — board games, card games, RPG’s, you name it.
Specialising in Magic the Gathering, our friendly staff will help you find a game that suits you — and even a group to play with!
At Games Laboratory, we believe Play is paramount for young and old alike. We strive to offer the smoothest events, the nicest place space and the most helpful staff.
We regularly organise structured play events, ranging from new-player «learn to play» all the way to serious competitive tournament play with huge prizes.
We buy and sell Magic: the Gathering cards and various other trading card games. We also have a great range of the best board games, card accessories and much more!
We also function as a community space, where anyone can borrow games from our Games Library for a gold coin donation and play them in store. The full list of games in our Games Library can be found on our website.
On top of that, we have a bar downstairs; the Alchemist’s Refuge, where we stock a range of spirits, beer and wine, and have tables for game playing as well as arcade games and foosball to play.
Games are a great way to break the ice with new friends, or catch up with old ones. Join us for a fun night in at your new local in the CBD!

Business Owner
As curmudgeonly as he is caring, James has been part of Melbourne gaming for 15 years. Working for Alternate Worlds, Card Heaven and GoodGames, as well as freelancing as a tournament official for Wizards of the Coast, James has seen a lot of what it takes to run a great shop and has stolen all his good ideas from far smarter people.
