I wanted a green smoothie so I went to check out Five Plus, cos pretty much smoothies are all they do, aside from those protein ball things, and maybe some salad, which I didn’t see anywhere. I like the fact that everything is blended up from whole, not powdered or frozen or juiced first, so you know what you are getting. What I didn’t like was having so much ice added to the blender that a lot of the healthy ingredients ended up left in the blender jug and not in my cup, which made the $ 7.50 price tag a bit steep and my smoothie(the ‘New Leaf’) a bit watery tasting.

New place opened on little lonsdale. Was on my list of things to check out. I am glad i did, they have a great selection of health juices and they are very tasty. I find the price for the smoothie here is quite expensive, I think i paid something like $ 7.50 for a regular juice. So unfortunately its not a place I would go back to often, as boost is around the corner and they offer very similar health juices(maybe not as much goodness as this place) but for the $ 2 cheaper drinks its sometimes not worth the justification. However it always seems to be somewhat busy, so they are definitely doing something right, I guess being Melbourne people prefer to support the small business over big chains, so its worth paying the little bit extra to help out the small guys.

I’m not sure how long this smoothie bar has been here for but I’ve only just discovered it & the two smoothies I’ve had so far(Purple Patch & The Perfect Date) have been delicious. All of the smoothies contain a nice helping of either fruit, veggies or both & are vegan friendly. It’s a small menu but with enough choices & you can add extras into your smoothie mix to suit your needs. I can’t wait to sample another one!!!
