So I think Famous Amos is an American cookie company, and as far as I know, the US has a solid reputation for being purveyors of sweet treats of the cookie realm.
Whatever though, the cookies at this Famous Amos counter at the Lonsdale Street entrance to Melbourne Central are so yum. Soft, melt-​in-​the-​mouth cookies in all manner of tasty variations like traditional but never dull, chocolate chip, or double chocolate chip, or — be still my beating heart — triple chocolate. Then there’s the very delectable and terribly Australian white chocolate and macadamia, one of my faves.
Get your cookies in big Cookie Monster size or in daintier pieces for those who feel a bit of guilt munching on these naughty treats and need to hide them in the bag whilst eating them as they make their getaway down Lonsdale.
