Wanted to thank the great service person we had today. The food was good and the coffee(long black) that I had was perfect. But I really wanted to thank the woman who handled the crowd at the cash register. I was waiting to pay my bill and a man tried to break in. She calmly told him a couple of times to wait his turn. Thanks!

Breakfast: we had to wait 35 minutes for one meal(that we were sharing) and when it finally came out they didn’t apologize for the wait and the meal was cold. We left immediately and didn’t pay for the poor effort of a meal, they didn’t even apologize and we were consequently late to work. Not happy at all. I would give it 0 stars if I could.

Nice location, cheap breakfast, friendly atmosphere. My only complaint — the coffee was not made with love! Good tasting coffee although I am a firm believer the love from a barista turns a good coffee into a great coffee.

Breakfast all day is what we noticed at decent prices so we popped in at 10:30am on a Saturday to be greeted by bustling table service. Ordered Salmon Royale and a vegetarian breakfast. Older décor with tables packed together the best thing about Café Excello is that it isn’t hipster! So the music is low key and not in your face. Friendly, quick service and the servings are generous and unfussy. Very good value. Definitely recommended for a good feed for breakfast.

Only a two minute walk from our hotel, we passed by Café Excello too many times to not step foot into this place for breakfast. We tried the café the morning of our departure from Melbourne. Apparently, we didn’t allow enough time for breakfast(we gave ourselves 45 minutes), so we ended up stuffing our faces in less than 15 minutes because the food took longer than expected to finally arrive at the table. We had the Salmon Royale and the Big Breakfast. The Salmon Royale had smoked salmon, spinach, and poached eggs on English muffins, drenched in a delicious, thick and creamy hollandaise sauce. The Salmon Royale was excellent! The smoked salmon was velvety smooth and delicious, but not too salty. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly, and the hollandaise sauce was very thick, salty, and savory. The spinach wasn’t overcooked, and the English muffins were buttery and toasted nicely. The portion size was huge and the meal was very satisfying. Although I didn’t have the Big Breakfast plate, it had quite a plethora of classic breakfast items piled high on a huge plate. The dish had eggs, hashbrown, bacon, ham, sausage, tomato, baked beans, mushrooms, and toast, plenty enough to share between two people. The ambiance at Café Excello is nice and relaxing. They serve breakfast until 3PM. Food takes a while to prepare, so allow at least 90 minutes for dining. This place is great for a weekend brunch, especially on a warm, sunny day so you can sit outside.
