Specialties

Coriole Vineyards was established by the Lloyd Family in 1967. The earliest vineyards date from 1919, in the «Seaview» sub-region of the McLaren Vale Wine Region in South Australia.

The main variety is Shiraz, followed by Sangiovese and Chenin Blanc. Wines are estate produced and sold in many countries around the world.

Visit our cellar door in McLaren Vale to taste our wines, open every day of the year except Good Friday and Christmas Day.

Courtyard lunches are available at Coriole on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Reservations are from 12pm till 2.30pm and are highly recommended. The restaurant is housed in the rustic looking courtyard complete with a fireplace and the enclosed veranda of rolling ‘Tuscan’ views of the Vale, or on a fine day, al fresco dining is available in the gardens, terrace or under one of the Mulberry, Moreton Bay, or Chinese Elm trees.

The menu comprises of many shared plates to graze on at your leisure. It incorporates the highest quality produce focusing on our estate grown organic vegetable patch and the local findings of chef Tom Reid. Coriole Kalamata Olives and new season first press olive oil are teamed with house baked sourdough. Cheese from Woodside Cheese Wrights features heavily as well as sustainable South Australian livestock.

History

Established in 1967.

Coriole is situated in the undulating hills of the densely planted McLaren Vale region just within sight of the sea and less than an hour from Adelaide.

The original farmhouses were built in 1860 and are now the epicentre of the garden and cellar door at the winery. The original vineyards were planted immediately after the first world war.

Shiraz is the great tradition of McLaren Vale going back over 150 years, and is the major variety planted on the estate. The first wine released was the 1970 Claret (Shiraz). Coriole has been an Australian pioneer of Sangiovese and Italian varieties since 1985.

Coriole is managed by two family members, Mark and Paul Lloyd.
