Had a great steak and green peppercorn pie. I hear good things on a regular basis about it and I wasn’t disappointed.

A little country bakery, my favourite kind of bakery. The pastry is so much better in the country bakeries and this one did not disappoint.
I had a steak and mushroom pie which had chunks (closer to small slabs) of steak and real cut up mushrooms. I love that I can actually see the flavours in my pies instead of just eating a gooey mess. The range of pastries will not disappoint, so many flavours to choose.
I enjoy walking into a bakery to see local products available. There is the standard selection of soft drinks but also Nippys juices and milk drinks. The fleurieu company milks are also available.
Unfortunately coffee made on location was very average but that and the fact that the place is not wheelchair friendly are the only downsides. (Very rarely are country bakeries wheelchair accessible).

As you zoom out of the Vale you remember that you are indeed hungry. So just stop here…
Very nice pit stop of a bakery in McLaren Flat.
They have the staples, savory and sweet. Prices are average.
Staff are friendly (very cool place indeed).
Oh and a $ 10 min EFTPOS, always good to know.
