This is one of my favorite record shops in Perth. The owner often plays a nice mix of old rock, blues, pop, nothing that’s going to frighten the punters away. There are plenty of bargains to be had here, a good mix of vinyl and Cd’s, plenty of blues, jazz, country, funk and soul, and a big section of popular artists. There are a lot of Bargain LPS to search in boxes on the ground, I always seem to find something worth giving a spin out of these boxes. The prices in here are good, not over hyped craziness, you don’t mind taking a gamble on an album your not sure of if the prices are reasonable. The guy seems to deal in a lot of second hand stock, so you get an interesting mix of titles coming through. a place that is worth checking every now and again for something different.

I couldn’t believe my eyes this is a fucking amazing music store! It’s owned by this cool rocking long grey haired music lover who has exceptional taste. 40% or the store is taken up by a huge vinyl supply which is great to flick through because they look so awesome. On flicking through the $ 5 rack of CD’s I was so amazed to find that the CD’s sure there were some not so great ones and some oldies but there were actually really good CD’s for only $ 5. I went to the other corner of the store and none of the CD’s were over $ 15 averaging around $ 10. They also sell DVD’s I just can’t believe I have never heard of this place before, I’m going back with a suitcase and buying him out what a gem!

Secondhand record stores and I go way back. Back to when I used to DJ at clubs, weddings, parties, anything… I remember frequenting Plastic Passion avidly, half the money made from my DJ-ing gigs in my back pocket, ready to spend on evermore music, new and old. I’d stock up on stacks of vinyl from here, and, if you look through my record collection today there’s proof, with a good eighth of them stamped with the Plastic Passion logo. I heard recently that this place might be closing, so thought I’d drop in for another quick squizz. Sure enough, there’s plenty of great vintage stuff on the shelves — from ABBA and the Beatles to Yes and ZZ Top. There’s also an entire wall of credible CDs, both retro and up-to-date, as well as excellent box-sets by the likes of Kasabian and Kings Of Leon that cost only $ 15 — excellent value compared to the three-figure price tag at record boutiques like Dada and 78s. I hope Plastic Passion doesn’t close any time soon. I’ve got an account here now and have just gotten into a radio course, for which I’m sure plenty of playlist inspiration could be found in here…

If you’re looking for vinyl records, you have to stop by Passion Plastic. You can buy, sell or even trade your vinyl records. The store is jam packed with records, and since they are constantly buying and trading records, the selection changes constantly. The store also carries CDs, but the vinyl records are where the store’s charm lies. The records are in great condition and most of them cost around $ 15. They even had Beatles records for $ 10 and $ 15. If you’re a vinyl fan, stop by and get lost in the stores selection. The biggest highlight for me was their large selection of America’s 60’s music on vinyl.
