Don’t ask me how or why, but one day I found myself in Mascot with several friends. None of us were familiar with the area, but since we were all suffering from growling stomachs and irritable temperaments from hunger, we had to find somewhere to eat. So driving down Church Avenue, we stopped at Café Neo to see what they offered. Despite the outside looking like a commercial retail outlet, it’s actually a pleasant café. There’s an outdoor seating area in the front with several tables and chairs. We all decided to sit outside since there were smokers in the bunch. The coffee was quite impressive, considering I had no expectations from the start. For lunch, I ordered grilled fish and chips, which was cheap and decent quality. The chips were crispy and not too oily, which is exactly what I like. Other than fish and chips, Café Neo has a range of salads, wraps, and sandwiches that look rather fresh. The service was very friendly.
