The coffee was great. The bacon & egg rolls were great. And the cots was so reasonable that we shouted our friends! Will def be back

I’ve tried the coffee, sandwiches and pasta dishes and everything has been excellent. It’s also nice to go to a venue in Marrickville that plays uplifting music for a change, something of a rarity in this neck of the woods. Service is mostly good, a smile form our waitress wouldn’t have hurt though — remember it’s called«hospitality». Will definitely be back.

Always busy in the morning, never been let down with a good coffee at Vesbar. Located just opposite another café, it seems to offer just enough originality(plus Campos coffee) to make it worth stopping at this one rather than the other. Some good food options on the menu but haven’t tried them yet. Will be back on the weekend for a tryout.

This little expresso bar has a near perfect breakfast menu. Eggs, haloumi, avocado, prosciutto, sourdough,(Campos) coffee… all the essentials are there. The menu has a Mediterranean influence(persian feta anyone?), and even better, most breakfast items are $ 10 or less. If you’re lucky, you’ll nab a table on the sidewalk in the sun. Of course if a sweet breakfast is more your thing, there is a whole cabinet of delectable sugar-coated, custard-filled pastries and doughnuts(and hey, if doughnuts for breakfast is good enough for Homer Simpson, its good enough for me).

One of the recent swarm of coffee shop additions to Marrickville. Small but funky looking, they’re following more of the«let’s have stuff around»(like a Vespa) than the minimalist vibe. They seem to fill up their outdoor seats frequently enough. Their position right by the Marrickville train station makes them a popular takeaway coffee spot, and I stopped in last week for just this reason, quite early(they open at 6am I think). They were friendly, service was obviously speedy at that hour, and it was a fine cup of coffee.

Campos coffee can do no wrong. Former barber shop turned café, the tiny little café boasts large numbers in the mornings. The owners are lovely, welcoming and chatty and just their hellos make your morning so much better. They are awaiting their wine license to turn into a bar at night and thank goodness for that, Marrickville needs some night life happening. Especially convenient, it’s great to find good coffee right across from the station with quick and speedy service that will awaken your soul and also allow you to get to your train in the nick of time!
