The first Yeeros shop in Sydney never disappoints, has always been consistent with his meats and never uses bi carb soda like the other yeeros shop around on his meats my favourite is mixed beef and lamb, with tzatziki and tomatoe sauce. There hand cut chips are the bomb, easy with the chicken salt though. I think the first here has carpal tunnel and forgets to stop pouring and packing it on.

If there is any criticism of this place then maybe that it’s an old looking joint with the menu photos behind the counter faded but other than that, great food with a very generous portion of meat on the yeeros. Great value too compared to their counterparts over at Victoria Rd. Service also far better too.

Really loved this place! Only stayed in this neighborhood a week, but ate here twice. Very generous portions of meat, the beef yeero meat was some of the best I’ve had(and I’ve tried a lot), as was the yogurt sauce. Very filling and delicious.

Often the less pretty places have the best food. The Yeeros Shop is arguably the best Yeeros shop in Marrickville — I say arguable because there is another competitor not too far away… Cheap food that fast is always going to go down well. It’s greasy and filling in a good way(great for that sodium) after a few drinks or hangover… Toppings are standard that you would anywhere else but that is as expected. The chips are amazing! Salty chicken salt/or not chips that are great value for money. Burgers are probably a miss here, pretty ordinary but you aren’t really going for that — I was curious though.

I absolutely love The Yeeros Shop, this place has been around for decades and I find myself here pretty frequently. The yeeros here is fresh & tasty and I absolutely love the old school style hot chips covered in chicken salt. They consistently serve yeeros jam-packed with meat, vegetables, tzatziki & paprika and it has become a small Sunday night tradition between a few of our mates to head over there. There’s always plenty of staff, the food service is always very quick & the prices are very affordable, as they always have been. The shop has a nice, chilled ambience to it and offers seating both inside & out. It’s open until late as well so theres plenty of time for everybody to grab a yeeros. We love it here & I highly recommend heading to The Yeeros Shop, you will not be disappointed with the experience!

OMG so delish!!! The lamb euros is so yum! The euros is large and so is the small portion of chips… Although they are oily.

Before I start on the Yeeros — I have to say that this place does the best value for money chips anywhere in Sydney. $ 3.50 for a small ends up being a massive package wrapped in butchers paper — enough for 3 or 4 people to go with their Yeeros! And it’s the old school chips, crunchy with a slightly oily taste doused in chicken salt — all you do before eating is dribble over some bbq sauce and you’re in heaven! The $ 9,90 lamb Yeeros is good value as well. It is a filling lamb sandwich with some excellent lamb meat, fresh salad and some praprika & lemon juice to top it off. It was a truly hearty late night feed and compares very well against it’s competition — Victoria Yeeros who are more expensive.

The Yeeros Shop is a Marrickville institution. Don’t bother getting yeeros from anywhere else, because this is the only place worth getting it from. For the uninitiated, a yeeros is a greek style kebab. Think beef, lamb and chicken rotisseries, with fresh salad on greek pita bread, expertly rolled. With every yeeros there is lemon juice and a shake of spices to ensure the proper flavour. It’s greasy, but it’s oh so good, and seemingly more fulfilling than chain outlet takeaway. It is family owned and run, with a few generations behind the counter. After the first time you have been there, you are a regular and treated as such. Ordering is haphazard, just stand by and be ready to yell it out at any given moment. Chips are quite unique, not uniform and can be a little mushy but they taste great. I usually get a lamb yeeros with lettuce, tomato and tomato sauce, but this is boring compared to all the different fillings you can have. The Yeeros shop is busy no matter what time of the day or night you drive past. Being on Illawarra Road parking is a little easier than on Marrickville Road, which is a real bonus. There are half a dozen tables you can eat-in at, most choose to take away. Even my vego friend reckons the felafel yeeros are pretty good, once she gets past the oh so meaty smell of the shop in general.
