I have always been disappointed that Wynnum has no big icecream chain, no Baskin Robins, no Cold Rock, but alas, I finally found Manly village Pizzeria!
I’ve yet to try the pizzas, but their gelato is AMAZING.
No longer will I weep over the absence of Baskins 31 flavours, instead I’ll drool over delicious freshly made, no preservatives italian GELATO!
There are about 9 flavours in total, and cost around $ 3.90 for a single scoop, or $ 5 for a double. Cheaper than Baskins, yet much more tasty.
The only problem is, once you try it you cannot forget, every time you drive past the boats in manly harbour you’ll get a tingling sensation on your tongue, your taste buds will be salivating for a sweet frosty treat and who are you to say no to your taste buds that have served you so well all these years!??

I had high expectations for this place. It looked great, the place was packed, atmosphere great, the Italian canvas prints on the walls were beautiful and the staff were really friendly and efficient. Plus, I love Italian so I was keen to try a new place.
I got takeaway from here last night with 2 friends and unfortunately we were a little disappointed. It was not terrible, but not great either. The pizza was dry and had not much cheese or sauce and the 2 pasta dishes we ordered tasted good but looked awful. I got ravioli with noci sauce. It came with only 7 small pieces of ravioli in a large plastic container. If you eat with your eyes, it was not the best look. The pasta was ok and the walnuts were good too but for $ 15, I expected a little more… food.

This is more than a pizzeria. The summer menu features wild barra, chicken and lots of very tempting pastas. Alas, I’ve only had the pizza, but it was really flavoursome and worth the short wait we had. If you like it hot, try the Raeburn, with chilli, jalepeno, pepperoni, spinach and tomato to get your mouth going, if seafood floats your boat, the Oceania is for you. The crispy, not too thick base is great and prices are to be expected for a great pizza out of the Manly strip. Add on about $ 5 for sitdown pizzas, or grab takeaway and head to the harbor for al fresco fun.
