Very happy with our experience. Had some delicious fine seefood(oysters and fish of the day), a beautiful and totally non-boring salad, nice Italian wine, and I highly recommend the fig pudding I had for desert. And to top it up the service was great from start to finish despite being visibly quite busy. Highly recommend this place for group dinner or a date.

This store has both indoor and outdoor seating with open concept interior design. Modern yet colorful on the inside and simple yet elegant on the outside. On the outside you could even witness the sunset if you come here for dinner. The store is overlooking the waves which made it scenic. Was given a choice on where to seat as I arrived slightly before sunset and there wasn’t much people around. Looked over the menu(both beverages and meals) and was quick to come to a decision on what I would like to eat. Had tropical heaven(strawberries, mango, coconut syrup and guava juice) — under the cocktail section and risotto for the day(lamb, mint, peas and tomatoes). The beverage was well-mixed. It is similar to a fruit slush but with different fruit selections in it. It is definitely a fruity drink and it wasn’t too sweet. There was a piece of strawberry sliced on the mug which you could enjoy too. The risotto of the day wasn’t listed on the daily special board and the waitress quickly checked with the chef about its ingredients and told me what it consisted of. Not a fan of tomato based dishes but this is definitely yummy. The lamb were shredded and was chewy. The ingredients were fresh and the combination of the sauces with the risotto made me yearn bite after bite. Can taste a hint of mint while chowing down the food. The server then placed a dessert menu on the table. Instead of saying no, I had to say yes to coconut panna cotta. It came within 10 minutes after ordering. The panna cotta reminds me of milk pudding as it was silky yet wobbly in the mouth. The portion was rather good but the price was a little steep as it has good mix of fruits next to it(mandarins, passion fruits, lime). Overall, I am glad to make a stop over at this café like restaurant especially during a windy day. Do stop by here if you are in Manly :)

Not only are the coffees amazing(especially the mocha’s) but the service is impeccable! The British girl with the pink tips on her curly hair is my favourite waitress by far! She is attentive and kind. My father and I have business meetings here every morning and the service is never terrible. It’s always A++++++ The food is also super. You can’t go wrong with any thing on the menu!

Good food. Can be a little expensive for what is essentially just a Manly café. Service was a bit slow. Moroccan lamb skewers are great. Kids menu has good variety. Irritating that they have an additional surcharge for Amex.

After reading the great reviews for Jelly Fish, I knew we had to come during our trip out to Manly. Located on the beach front, next to two other cafes and a surf shop, it’s obviously a very popular place! However, it’s easy to be fooled that it’s busier that it really is due to the masses of people only wanting to sit in the ‘outside’ area — I say ‘outside’ as the whole thing is open fronted, so it’s not as if you’re shut away if you choose to take a step into the interior. We were seated quickly enough and, despite service being a little bit slow off the mark, it was easy to forgive; the girls do a great job of staying on top of the orders and ensuring everything comes out fresh. The parents each had a great looking fruity frappé to drink, perfect after a morning on the beach, served in mason jar mugs. The breakfast(or should I say brekkie???) menu was jam packed with a combination of traditional and more unusual items. From open topped croissants and fruit bowls to porridge and french toast, everyone’s sure to find something they like. I went for the zucchini, sweetcorn and shallot fritters with tomato and bacon as this is something I haven’t seen on a morning menu before. They truly were great, and it was nice to be able to have something savoury but non-eggy. The fritters were a great size and the bacon cooked well, without being too salty. I shared meals with my mum, who had the pancakes topped with pistachio cream and maple syrup, which were equally as good; I loved the addition of the pistachio as it prevented them from being too sweet. Full brekkies also available, as my dad enjoyed, with some great looking sausages. A great way to spend the day in Manly and a perfect place to people watch.

Went for breakfast with a large group of people — they arranged a table for us to all fit during their peak hour which was great! Service was good and the view is impeccable. I ordered the Italian Scrambled Eggs, which was tasty, and the others had pancakes, big brekky, French toast and the BLT with no complaints!

Of the three cafes on this block at North Steyne I have a longstanding allegiance to Jelly Fish. That said all three cafes are good quality, busy and far better than any beach front café up at Manly. My loyalty lies with my many memories of lazy Sunday brunches and coffees after doing patrol at North Steyne as well as my strong affection for the breakfast meal I always order. A soy mocha(made with real Belgian chocolate) and the Field Mushrooms(asparagus, spinach, feta, tomato and sourdough). One half of my Sunday hangover cure is also a takeaway soy mocha paired with a Soulaffel burger from Ben Brys on The Corso… magic. Jelly Fish is almost always packed on the weekends(unless there is a freak storm). Whilst you may not be able to see a spare seat they usually manage to find you one fairly quickly(how remains a mystery to me). The girl who manages the seating of customers is excellent: unflappable, fair and with a very good memory for who was next. The food comes pretty quickly and is always of good quality and they are fairly decent at getting you water. You don’t generally find an incompetent waiter/waitress here because they just couldn’t hack the hectic environment. The customer turnover time is quite good… they get people in and out without making them feel rushed or like they are taking up space.

We often head down here after doing the Spit to Manly walk( ) and we’re always well impressed. First of all, we never, ever book and I know how annoying that can be but the staff take it in their stride and quickly arrange a table for us and water for the dogs. The wait staff promptly bring menus, take drink orders and follow shortly with food orders. Both food and drinks are served quickly. I always get the salad without meat but with dressing on the side and they never mess it up. +1 gets a burger and salivates over the chips. The fresh juices are great, there’s a good selection of beer and wine and the prices are more than reasonable. Best of all, you get to people watch and enjoy the view of Manly. My best tip: If this place is full, don’t be tempted to go to the other cafes next door, be patient, it’s worth the wait.

We went to meet a friend for coffee on North Steyne and she recommended Jellyfish cos it had high chairs for her toddler. The place was crowded. We scored a table out with a sea breeze. I was in luck — chai in a pot with real tea leaves. Yes! The pot had enough for about 4 cups and I was set. Eggs Benedict were perfectly coddled and plump oozing their golden cargo on piercing. Perfection. Our friend ordered a muffin of the day — Mango. Nice. We saw other food go by — lovely fruit platters loaded with generous servings of fresh cut fruit. It was all very nice. Coming back here again for sure.
