I’ve popped into the Prickly Pear a few times looking for a decent take away coffee. Today I sat in for a very late lunch and a long black. The coffee here is great and the staff are very, very friendly. I had a flat spinach and feta pastry that my Macedonian Baba used to make and call ‘musnik’, but these guys referred to as a pie. It was very satisfying. This place has a lovely ‘country kitchen’ vibe that this country-ish girl finds refreshing, homely and welcoming. The menu doesn’t excite me at all(I want my lunch to be as gourmet as possible) but I’d still come back. Something about the down-to-earth food, space and people that draws you in.

I ran in once to get a soy latte and drooled over the cakes on display and the breakfast menu and vowed I would return to them one day. Soy latte was smooth, creamy and delicious. I have yet to go back for the food.
