Malvern Central is a good local smaller shopping mall, with a good mix of strores, located on two tram lines and a railway station you can’t go wrong. It is clean, not so crowded and does not have undesirables hanging aroudn in the mall. Overall a great drop in an dout type of centre, good coffee houses inside so even grab a quick coffee and snack. Only downfall is for a shopping centre tehy do not have a good social media prescence it is out of date so when you go looking for hours of trade on special days it is hard to find.

A bit more up-market than the average suburban shopping centre, but given the area, that is not surprising. The major tenants are Woolworths and the recently opened David Jones, with lots of smaller specialty shops such as: Bakers Delight, Bed Bath & Table, kikki. k, Terry White Chemists, Feathers, The Athletes Foot, OPSM, to name a few. Plenty of underground car parking, though it can be tough to get a park at peak times. There is a hand car wash service if your car needs a shine while you shop. Lots of wide aisles and escalators make this a favorite for parents with pushers. There is free WiFi in the food court on the top level so you can add your Unilocal reviews while having a coffee. And if the centre does not have what you want, the Glenferrie Road shopping strip is right outside.

Shopping Center-Wise it leaves a bit to be desired. It has Wittner, but by Wittner standards it’s pretty flat. Highlights would be the brown rice sushi at Sushi Sushi and the late opening hours at Safeway Liquor(10pm most nights), and that Safeway has weird amazing foods like Kale, Almond Milk and other grand clean eating diet specified foodstuffs. And it’s my local and a short walk away so gets three stars from me…

Malvern Central is like a training course for prams and strollers. Usually filled with mummies and babies, it has a ton of parking and so I suppose it’s a pretty easy option for most new parents to duck into the supermarket. The big anchor stores here are Woolworths and Target, with a few bedding, clothing and other fresh produce stores. They offer free wifi near the café areas, and there’s a car wash service in the carpark.
