My property agent called out Houdini Lock Service when an exploding lightbulb tripped all the lights in my flat, and the mains switch was hidden behind a locked door to which nobody had the key. My property agent assured me that the locksmith would call me when he was on his way. Three hours later, I was struggling to cook a pasta sauce by candlelight(harder than it sounds). Luckily, I’d had an urge to make Sangria that day, so the result — dinner and sangria by candlelight — was actually pretty cool. Still, by now, not just the lights but all the power had gone off — and still no sign of the locksmith. We called them, and it turned out that everyone had got their wires crossed and the locksmith had tried to come in the 5 minutes we left to go to the shops. At first, Dean(the locksmith) sounded pissed off that we hadn’t been in when he tried to come. But when we explained what had happened he said he would try to come out later and fix it for us. True to his word, he came back again around 10pm with his magic key, unlocked the mystery door and had the power back on in a flash. Dean is a thoroughly nice man, he has a magical key that unlocks all doors, and he put our power back on. What a great locksmith.
