For the price, the food is reasonable. The rump was good though my colleagues was very rare not medium rare. I also asked for mash and received potato chips. Not the biggest deal in the world but the service could be a bit crisper. The garden salad was quite plain.

The steak was cooked to my liking but the wait at lunch can be long, so be there early for a big group.

Always a great place for dinner when you don’t want to cook. Parking can be a bit tough on the weekends, but there’s plenty around the corner after working hours. Ribs a are great, as are the steaks and burgers. Totally love their fries, and the kids meals are extremely plentiful. Definitely try the sizzling mushrooms, which continue to size on their iron player long after they’ve been served. Garlic prawns and calamari are also decent for a steak house, but you can never go wrong with a full rack of prom ribs. Oh, and their desserts are awesome, best banana split and Espresso Brûlée!

I caught up with some friends in Ryde this Saturday and was staying at the closest hotel to their place — the Courtyard by Marriot. The hotel restaurant was closed for a private function but luckily there was a place right next door called Rumps and Ribs which as the name suggests specialises in… well, I guess you can figure out the rest. I arrived a little after 7pm and the place was already full, but the guy at the door suggested I get a drink from the bar while I waited for a table. The menu is not extensive — burgers, ribs and steaks. I ordered half a rack of pork ribs for $ 37 which was served with a side of fries and a bib The ribs were a good serve and had a generous amount of meat on the bone. The sauce was a little too sweet for my taste and I would have preferred something with a more smokey flavour. The fries were good. — crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Overall, not a bad meal.

After visiting Ribs and Rumps for dinner I found myself feeling very meh overall. I definitely ended up full but didn’t find anything extra exciting going on. Between 2 people we organised a few appetisers to try and enjoy more of what this restaurant has to offer aswell as our mains. The biggest point I found was most of the food tasted very dry(We order our steaks rare and medium rare) and found ourselves using sauces a lot which is not a sign of a high end cut of meat. Service was good and the atmosphere was nice but it is not well ventilated and if it is over 30 degrees get ready to feel every part of that temperature as they had 1 fan for the whole restaurant. Overall I’m sure there are many other places nearby you could better spend $ 100… Like McDonald’s or KFC.

I have eaten here a few times as they are conveniently located near my work and have a great outdoor seating area. The food sadly is very over priced and often is tasteless which is near impossible to do with ribs however it happens. Also the service can be pretty bad in terms of how long meals take to be cooked and getting the attention of the wait staff however the staff when they have a chance to stop and serve you are always so lovely to deal with and even though they are swamped they really do their best to hide it and give you your full attention. The redeeming quality for this establishment, aside from their wait staff, is their bar. Most importantly, their cocktails. While they are pricey you are definitely getting your moneys worth with them and they are always super tasty and strong.

Ribs at Ribs and Rumps are the go. Have to say, this place isn’t as good as the other Ribs and Rumps, but the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming which made the experience. /the steaks were cooked well, the calamari wasn’t rubbery and the buffalo wings are tiny but tasty.

I ate here one night as it was next door to my hotel and I was really looking forward to it. I did not enjoy my experience at all. They were very busy and the staff was running all around, and I was a solo diner, so obviously my service suffered. I quickly reviewed the menu and eventually ordered the Beef & Pork rib and rump combo and then waited for my food. When my food came out the meat was cold. The sauce was tasty and the fries were hot and very good. My biggest issue was that the beef ribs and the rump smelled strange, eventually I stopped eating the ribs. The Pork ribs were tasty and went well with the sauce and the fries. Overall I could not recommend this place as I did not have a good experience.

Very first place we went to eat in Austrailia. We stayed at the Marriott and this was one of the only places to eat that wasn’t fast food. It’s pretty difficult to find and the service was not very good as we were sat next to some very loud guys while there was nobody else in the place. It took forever to get our orders taken as well. We share a salamari salad and a mixed grill. I’d say the food is a 3.5 but service drags it down overall.

The classic ribs and chips are mouth-watering, and perfect for taking home to eat in front of the TV or just with friends to share. I recommend you get the pork ribs though as they’re the best! I can’t comment on their service because I always have take away, but I can say that the sauce and meet is pretty damn great! If you’re ready to get your hands and face messy(and I mean, looking like a dog knowing I’m a bone type messy), you’ll enjoy this. On the down side, their ribs are expensive as hell and I would definitely say they’re a bit overpriced.

Once upon a time I enjoyed Ribs and Rumps, however, after my latest visit I doubt I will be returning anytime soon — if ever… First — the service was rather non-existent. Second — the cocktails taste nothing like they are described. I ordered the Spiced Vanilla Mojito which didn’t taste of vanilla or a Mojito. It tasted like Pear Vodka with soda water. Then I ordered the Lemon Slingback and I’m not joking when I say it tasted just like Areogard. Yes. Areogard. Neither drink was finished. Third — the Pork Ribs were terrible! How these pass as BBQ ribs is beyond me. They were so dry that I could not cut them apart with a knife, let alone eat them. So I didn’t. I ate some of my baby potatoes, which were so baby… Fourth — the seats we were sitting on were so filthy, this particular restaurant needs some maintenance and a good clean. Perhaps a new chef. And suppliers. And a menu. And recipes. So. Don’t even waste your time or money… Ribs and Rumps, you disappoint.

Seems like a fun environment. I ordered the ½ pork ribs and chips… Chips were great! Pork ribs were inedible… Just plain awful. Chewy, not tender at all. Sauce is very thin and too sweet. No caramelization on ribs at all. No smoke taste at all. Just seems like they were boiled then thrown on a grill to warm through… Do not eat the ribs. This place need to either fire the cook or rework the entire rib cooking process.

Dorothy we ain’t in Kansas anymore. Heck, we so far north of Texas we is in Australia(da long way round). The problem with Ribs ‘n’ Rumps is that Texas exists. And Texas BBQ has infiltrated Australia, in many guises and forms in recent years. Sadly, whilst I would have visited RNR a decade ago and been delighted, these days it just doesn’t cut the brisket. Whilst the ribs themselves were cooked well, and had plenty of meat, the flavour was boring, sugary BBQ. No smoke, no depth, nothing to make me eat past the first mouthful really. Plain flavours for unrefined palates. RNR is a little disjointed in this location also. The waitstaff are all trying to serve your table. So, even though you get an individual server who takes your order, every single server that passes your table from the kitchen will ask if the order they are holding is yours… Now, that’s just sloppy. The meal is also off-the-charts expensive. When two peeps spend in excess of $ 150 to have dinner, you kinda don’t expect the rookie service + bland flavour 1 – 2 punch combo. You expect something with some wow factor. An uppercut of intensity, or a surprising haymaker of smoke. No surprises here, just disappointment from a pretender unable to fight its way out of the wet paper bag. Whilst I enjoyed the company(5 stars!) the food and ambience left me wanting. Wanting texas. Wanting smoke. Dreaming of the Salt Lick, hand made lemonade, all you can eat platters of pork ribs, sausage and brisket for $ 20 and mouth-watering mesquite meat!
