When I finally managed to locate this teensy weensy shop, tucked away in an arcade without street front signage, the manager boasted to me about how I’d stepped out of Mackay, and was about to get a «capital city experience.» I’m not a coffee drinker, so I opted for hot chocolate. If you’re a die-hard hot chocolate fan, you’ll probably be disappointed. Despite the manager raving about the Australian-blend of hot chocolate(called Mofo), it tasted like unrefined cocoa in milk. Bitter and sour. They also don’t stock marshmallows… Or whipped cream. So, altogether, it was a disappointing hot chocolate. I also ordered the macarons, and cupcake. The manager explained that they aren’t licensed to make food, but raved on how the cupcakes are gluten free and the macarons are locally sourced. Again, I was disappointed. The macarons taste like Arnotts Orange Creams, and the cupcake was stale. I’m really hoping these people start putting their energy into improving their product, and less into self-promotion.
