Lanai Serviced Apartments

I stayed here for two weeks when I was in town on business. When we arrived to check in they had sold out of apartments and so bumped us up to the Penthouse 3 bedroom. That sounds like something out of a story but it just meant it was on the top floor and there was a second balcony with a hot-​tub. We didn’t get to use the hot tub though; there is a sign saying the use of the hot tub is reserved for those who have booked the penthouse, rather than those who booked another room. That felt a little petty but other than that, it was great. The place was quite big, the rooms were immaculate and a good size. The bathrooms and the kitchen were all lovely and modern. And by this I mean the shower in this place could easily fit a family of 5 and had both a rainfall shower-​head and a handheld. Nice.
There is a gym (24 hours) and a swimming pool.
The only other drawback is that reception doesn’t stay open late. So we received a phone call at about 11 am in the morning saying we had to check in by 7pm. Which wasn’t a problem, as we intended to go straight there from work, but it still kind of irritated me. What if we had come in on the last flight of the day and wanted to stay here?
Overall, a great place to stay in Mackay, particularly if you are staying for any length of time and want both a kitchen and convenient supermarkets/​restaurants within walking distance.
