This place is probably more suited to families with young kids rather than two young adults looking for a decent feed. Most of the menu is Italian based but I would have preferred to have gone to a proper Italian restaurant instead. I wouldn’t say the meals are cheap either. Our squid salad was $ 18 and came with 4 slices of squid that looked like that came from a frozen package. The pizza and chips were ok. Maybe a bit lacking on the aioli sauce. Service wise everyone was very friendly and looked like they had been trained well. Only annoying moment was when they served the pizza main before I’d finished my entrée and with little room on the table I was forced to quickly spoon everything onto my plate so he could clear the entrée plate to make room for the pizza. Again I think they do specials for families with younger kids so I can see why this place would be popular for parents wanting a break from the kitchen but for anyone else I’d probably look elsewhere for a better meal.

Rashays is a great place to take the family to dinner if you don’t feel like cooking and have younger children around, or possibly just hanging out with a few mates, rashays meals range anywhere from $ 12(hot specials menu), up to $ 40+(if your into fancy seafood) for the price that you pay it is decent quality food. One of the big plus for the menu is the bruschetta pizza. Genius I say, and as for dessert Nutella pizza anyone? Oh and you can also purchase alcohol too. Beer, wine or cocktails anyone? All in all rashays is good if you wanna relaxed atmosphere dinner. But not to fancy. It’s more so a restaurant than a café.

Pros: Huge amount of seating, open late pretty much every night of the week, the size of the soft drinks are massive, plenty of tables to smoke at(if you smoke), lots of staff which means quick efficient service. Cons: They have changed the menus and I have to say it has gone downhill in quality and they are getting quite expensive. You have to pay to be a member to receive discounts where as before, you could rock up on a tuesday and get a 2 for 1 pasta or whatever deal was going. They have a public holiday surcharge also. The menu consists of woodfire pizzas, steaks, chicken, and plenty of seafood options including lobster and seafood platters. They are licensed, sell cocktails, desserts, ok coffee and is was once the place to hang out at in liverpool.

Let’s be honest — Liverpool is not great when you want to go out for a nice dinner. Rashay’s was very VERY welcomed by locals when they first opened. Boasting a diverse menu and excellent lunch specials, it’s great for your work lunch break or a quick dinner after work on a weeknight. I must admit the menu used to be far more diverse, it included every kind of café food you can imagine! They’ve narrowed it down a bit now, but you can still grab, pasta, pizza’s, steak and burgers. And for the cost the meal portions are very generous. What I love most about this place is the drink sizes! I’m one of those people who ALWAYS finishes their drink before the meal comes. Not at Rashays, for $ 4.80 you get a MASSIVE soft drink that will last you until you’ve finished desert. The menu is Halal — which is great for me because I don’t eat pork, so I know I can order with safety! The only downside to this restaurant is the plethora of T. V’s mounted on the walls. We counted ten in our view when we were there last. Every Friday/Saturday night the place is buzzing — it’s definitely a local favourite.
