The Liverpool Square is located just opposite the main entrance of Westfield Liverpool, and it’s a fun place to sit and relax. There is a massive church with massive grounds right next to it, which makes a nice backdrop. There are numerous benches to sit on, there are lovely statues to add a historic feel to the place, and, most importantly, there are cafes! Plenty of cafes. And thrift stores! Who doesn’t love thrift stores! There’s even one of those oversized chess-boards. The kind where the board is painted on the ground, and the chess-pieces are almost human-sized, and you have to physically move them around the board, almost like you’re IN the game. I love those. Then there’s various wooden tables with small, regular sized chess boards on them, on which to play tournaments. There’s always adorable old men playing, and they would love for you to join them. There’s even a small playground to entertain your kids! It’s a nice bit of local flavour, if nothing else. :)
