Pronunciation Matters delivers customised pronunciation or accent reduction courses for professionals working in English as their second or third language. We also specialise in training for the speaking component of assessments such as IELTS, PEAT and OET.

History

Established in 2007.

Deborah was an English as a Second Language teacher for 25 years and saw a need for pronunciation training for advanced working professionals. After completing a NEIS course, she established Pronunciation Matters. Since then she has delivered courses in Caltex, Genworth, NSW Fire Brigades, Google, Sydney University and many more workplaces.

I have been teaching English as a second language for over 25 years and worked in the Industry programme whilst working for the NSW Adult Migrant English Service. I have been able to combine this experience with strategies learnt in my Masters of Applied Linguistics from Macquarie University to offer diagnostic assessment of your pronunciation needs as well as relevant, customised pronunciation courses.

Over the years I have developed a progression of skill and teaching methods that will help you with specific sound errors such as r/​l or v/​w, problems associated with misplaced stress and problems with intonation and speed of your speech.
