Mediocre pub food, ordered a pizza, cooked it to within an inch of its life. Poor beer selection. Not really worth the visit. Sat outside and watched the locals wander past, that was definitely the highlight

The Metz has been something of an institution of Launceston for as long as I can remember. Whilst certainly a great place for a drink with friends, the chicken caesar left something to be desired. If you’re looking for something uncomplicated to go with drinks in a fairly central location however, this may well be your place of choice.

The food was pretty good. We asked for a medium steak but it was more of a well done steak. The seafood gnocchi was good but nothing to write home about. I thought the service was really ordinary. The waitress was really unfriendly and unwelcoming. It felt like we were not welcome. The other reviews seemed really good so we tried it. Not sure whether I could recommend it to anyone.

Excellent food. Excellent service. Very friendly staff. Child friendly. We had lunch/brunch here a few times while in launceston with our three kids. Plenty of room to bring a pram in and have a kids menu… great bonus!

My first visit back to Launceston for many years and we came here as per a friend’s recommendation — we were not disappointed. The people who work here could not be more friendly and accommodating! My friend enjoyed his steak and I had a delicious wood fire pizza — Reef & Beef pizza. Lemon prawns, peppered beef, onion, capsicum & hollandaise sauce(see pics added). YUM! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area: D
