Holy Guacamole is a relaxed and contemporary Fresh-Mex café in the Quadrant Mall in Launceston’s CBD. The edgy ‘Day of the Dead’ theme explodes across the walls where we make Every Day a Fiesta!
We’re a busy lunch venue and Tuesday — Saturday also offer Holy’s Fiesta Feasts Dinner Banquets over Summer.
The food is cooked fresh and offers great value.
Just order and pay at the counter for and enjoy either indoor or outdoor seating.
We offer takeaway and relaxed café dining. If you prefer full service restaurant style Tex-Mex cuisine, you might like to visit our other pride and joy Prickly Cactus.
History
Established in 2012.
The idea was planted in July by owners Freddie, Ollie and Shannon and by the first week in August, Holy was opened by the Mayor of Launceston Albert van Zetten.
Our Day of the Dead animation was created by Tasmanian born artist Nick Sheehy who has gone on to do amazing things based in England including character creation with Nickelodeon.
The name was kept a secret (not even the Mayor knew) with only a few hints dropped in the lead up. Tim and Josh on ChilliFM told our city that a new café would open and it would service three things starting with CH. That was of course Chocolate, Chilli and Cheese (and could also have included Chicken and a few other dishes!).
On the opening night in front of over 150 people, the store was revealed for the first time and crowds were upon us from the next day. The café is now managed by Dave and a young, energetic team of amigos!
