You get what you pay for… clichéd I know, but honestly what do you expect. The place is cheap, centrally located and there certainly ain’t no frills. Checked in on a Friday before hiking the overland track and were offered ear plugs because the band playing in the pub downstairs was a touch loud. They didn’t lie. Honesty goes a long way in my books, the place was clean the bed was comfy and the staff were great. Would I stay here again on a Friday night? No way. But it is making me look forward to sleeping in my tent!

Booked a private 2 bunk room for New Years Eve. It’s $ 50/night and right on Cameron which is a block from City Park and 15 minute walk to The Royal(for the NYE festival). The downside is that it’s like a college dorm. You can hear everything like people flushing, talking outside and FYI: There’s a club downstairs so the music was booming past midnight. We needed to leave by 6am so it wasn’t great for sleeping the night. Other than that, it’s a great location, there’s a few reserved parking spots, has a backpackers section, and a full communal kitchen.

So a friend and me tried to stay the night here, the girl behind the desk was the most unhelpful person in the world. Not only did she just want to get off, but tried us discourage us from actually staying here. Never ever stay here. Unless you want unhelpful and selfish people taking care of you. If you try to stay here you have been warned.

Amazing old building, but the pub was closed for renovation. It was a typical hostel and well worn. Close to center of town.
