Come early. 6:30 open time not correct. Bring a table & chairs and have family game night before the movie! Even though we arrived 6:30 on the dot gates were already open and 60% of lot full. We went on a Wednesday night so there was only 1 Movie showing. We saw Star Wars. Started on time, however it still wasn’t dark enough. The management may want to re-evaluate the start time during summer, just a suggestion. Tune into 89.5 for movie reception. The old speaker bollards are still there which adds some nostalgia and reminds you that this is a special place! Warningif you can’t pay attention to your driving or blind spots, please take care with the bollards. If you’ve never been to a drive in you will notice that yes the parking lot is sloped on the hill. You will also notice that there are also«speed bump» like raised sections along each bay. This is where you park your front wheels in a sedan or back wheels if in a ute(parking backwards). The toilets are clean, no mess around. No soap, paper towel or hand dryer. That’s ok. This was the block near café. There is a block in the middle but I’ve never been in them. Mens were same according to hubby. Café: Hot dogs $ 3.50 Lolly bags $ 2 Can soft drink $ 2.50 Chips(sold only in chip cup)$ 3 Egg burger $ 6.50 Steak burger $ 8 There’s more but that’s what we bought. The steak was tough and bread dry. Not worth $ 8, but I was hungry! Hubby had Egg burger said it was good but egg was dry. Like it had been pre cooked and reheated. I agree with this my thin steak was very chewy. Kids liked the hot dogs. We’ve been here twice and will go back. Look it’s not flash, but that’s ok cause it’s a cheap family night out. Great place for young ones to go on a date! It is what you make it after all!

LOVED my first trip to the Galaxy drive ins! We took our 4yr old to watch Frozen and we all were won over by the nostalgia and charm of this one of a kind in Perth. It’s close to home, but I never knew it was there. We reversed up the hump and sat in the boot of the car with pillows, on a warm summers night. Its cheaper than the regular cinema and nice for something a bit different. We’ll be back!

On the website Galaxy advertises the gates open at 6:30pm, which is completely false. We arrived at 20 past to find 90% of the spots gone already. The customer service was rude from the gate to the café. There was a 10 minute wait on chips and 2 hrs on pizza, we went back after 10 minutes to pick up the chips, then waited another 10 mins, then we were handed very cold and limp chips. We had a handful then binned the rest. Another doozy was the lady preparing the popcorn decided that a good old taste test of the popcorn was in order and it was constant, even when we had a look during intermission. The quality of the sound is pretty good and the picture is comparible to a cinema(after 15 or so mins, when it’s is dark) Value: $ 30 for a family of four on the weekend for two flicks is good value, but the 45gm chips for $ 2.50 and the soggy ice cream cones for $ 3.20 hurts the value hip pocket a little. Overall poor service with the addition of signs plastered saying there is «no help if you have a flat battery» and food put a serious dampner on the night.

I love this place, such an awesome experience — I come from the UK where such things don’t exist. I would recommend this as a must do — all our visitors love it. Also a great option if you have younger children/babies as they will not disturb other people.

This is hands down the best drive in cinema in the whole Perth metropolitan area. This is not so much of a brag these days, as it is currently the only drive in in the city, but you’ve got to be in it to win it. This cinema runs a rotating roster of films, with cheap Tuesday night prices of $ 15 for as many people as you can fit into a car and double features on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights that will only set you back $ 10 for adults and $ 5 for children. The snack bar is well priced and actually makes pretty decent hamburgers along with selling choc tops, lollies and drinks. The first film on any night starts at 7:45, but you can get there early to get a good position any time from 6:15 onwards. Drive ins have many advantages over cinemas in that you can talk as much as you like and if you’ve got kids, they can fall asleep in the back of the car when they get tired. It’s one of my favourite things in the world to sit watching a film here with my family and it’s an experience I’d recommend to anybody.
