Where’s the big breakfast? For those on auto pilot, the lack of the big breakfast forces you to try something new. Either sweet or savoury, the fat goose offers something different. I had some Shakshuka breakfast(fresh Turkish bread, spiced tomatoes and grilled chorizos) and a couple of crispy bacon with my coffee(mocha saves me from adding sugar, so I say). Rac had a double layered pancake with bananas, ice cream and chocolate sauce. Sitting outside in the shade of banana trees and pink bottlebrush garden, I’ve had to try a bit. On the way out we also bought a pie and sausage roll for lunch later at the beach. All I want to know is, who is the fat goose referring to?

Saw this café on this app and diced to go on a road trip and visit. They have changed there coffee from Toby’s estate to a new blend that has a very unique taste(in a good way). There brownies are very nice but are more like a mud cake then a brownie. Toasted sandwiches are a good portion but $ 7.50 for a ham and cheese toastie I think is a little much. All in all if I am around the area again I will drop in for a coffee but maybe I’ll get chocolate on my cap instead of cinnamon haha

My morning coffee comes from here everyday. The coffee is excellent consistently. Try their bread !! Baked fresh every day on site. Food is pretty good too.

Only learnt there was a place called Killcare because a friend organised a gourmet cooking weekend away to this amazing architecturally designed house in the sky in Killcare. Killcare village has all the good bits that make a village(e.g. café, art gallery, gift shop). It’s a little windy today, hence we settle for this café(and not the one next door overlooking the water — too chilly outdoors). There is also indoor, outdoor and covered courtyard seating; thereby catering for all weather. Plus, this café serves Toby’s consistently good coffee. We only have coffee(due to the gourmet feasts happening at the house), but that doesn’t stop us from drooling over the lovely pastries, home-made jams and sizable breakfast portions. The covered courtyard looks like a little oasis — pretty, and protected from the elements.
