Wog in a Box

Yesterday we had spaghetti bolognaise, ravioli pepino, and garlic bread.
There was hardly a redeeming thing about this place.
The garlic bread tasted like they had mixed the butter with garlic/​ginger paste because it had quite a ginger kick to it which was weird.
The ravioli pepino was meant to be a sauce with chicken, mozzarella, chilli, and a nap sauce. The sauce for both these pastas was overly sweet. It’s like they just poured a jar of dolmios onto my under cooked ravioli and then spiced it up with some chilli and put the smallest amount of precook of chicken in.
The spaghetti for the bolognese was at least cooked but once again the sauce was the sweet shit you find in pre made jars of sauce.
We threw the ravioli in the bin and ate most of spagbog because we were hungry and just spent $ 20 on some really bad food.
They seem to also do your standard fish n chip take away fare but I wouldn’t bother with going to this place. Do your self a favour and get some pasta from Bella Vita on port road or Jack Challas for your fish n chip across the road.

Now you have to give credit for good creative wordplay like that. You could accuse whoever named it of being slightly racist, but lighten up! I’m part Italian and I’m not offended by it. In fact I had a good laugh when I first saw the name of this place.
Wog in a Box is primarily a pasta place, and while it does good pasta, you must check out the other items on the menu. My favourite is the Meatball roll. Yes, it’s exactly as it sounds, meatballs in a roll. It’s so good though!
They offer special meal packs which are worth the money. The food is already really well priced, but add in these deals and you have a great little takeaway.
The only problem I found was with the garlic bread which was a little over crispy. Maybe I’m just picky, but I like what I like. I can’t change that.
Regardless of my personal preferences, it’s a nice little place that a lot of people just drive by. However, if you want some decent Italian takeaway then stop and give them a try.
