When I read the reviews I braced myself for the worst and that then paid off. Unfortunately We went in a group of about twelve and we booked saying so they expected us. My first impression from the outside was. Trashy. And that sums it up well. The inside was a bit nicer but you can tell that it was pretty old. Although sometimes this is nice to add to the Mexican feel but we were expecting a lil bit cleaner. There were screaming kids everyone and smarties all over the floor. Eww. We went up to get our drinks and st back down. When they came to finally get our order it was all fine. The lady didn’t understand what we were saying barely understand but that’s fine. Fine. Sure. When they brought us out meals they got them all completely wrong. I got the wrong size people were getting the wrong things. My friend(who is vegetarian) asked for the vegetarian tacos. They brought her the complete opposite and no one at our table even ordered it. It was a huge mess of organisation and stressing about who got what. Not. Fun. I got #14 the muchasos which is 4 fried taco looking things with beef inside Served on a bed of rice. The rice was really bland for«spicy rice» and the taco thingys. I swear I felt nauseas. The beef inside was like string all stuck together. I was pretty unimpressed by the entire thing and won’t be going back.

If you like your Mexican food smothered in cheese, this is the place to enjoy it in surroundings that haven’t changed in decades, and listening to music that hasn’t changed in decades. The service is great too. You should try the Queso Fundido dip. ya know, if you love cheese. You do love cheese, right?

My wife loves me, lets start with that. She knows I love mexican food, the quantity & the quality, & the heat. In the states, it’s like the thai & the indian food here, there’s plenty of them & they range from cheap to big dollar menu’s. She’s always looking after me and my rather crass culinary needs. That’s one of the things I love about her… So, with her effort noted, here we go on Montezuma’s in Kedron… in HER words. Yes I do love my husband, BUT, I do NOTLOVE Montzumas(Kedron). I suppose I have been spoilt in the United States with real mexican food but even so the quality of mexican food we ate tonight at Montezumas was very poor. I had a chicken dish that had over cooked dry chicken some of which was cooked to the degree it was not chewable. My husband’s Cherizo enchilada was boring and tasteless. The nachos starter was appalling… a few corn chips around the outside of the plate with some tomatoe salsa(tasted more like a pasta sauce) and cheese filling up the middle of the plate. All up with 2 waters it exceeded $ 60! Oh well, expensive lesson learnt! If anyone knows of a good mexican restaurant then by all means please please enlighten us! ok… it’s rebar again now… My main complaint was value… no real value here. I had about a cup and a half of refried beans on 1⁄3 of the plate, the enchilada was in the middle, and then another 3rd of the plate was rice. it was a bum deal. It was packed in the joint, and I don’t know why. There were young kids running around without their parents controlling them, a screaming baby behind us, so I asked if there was a table we could eat at without all the disturbances around. Two tables out front, and we moved to one of them. They were understaffed and not prepared for the saturday night. The manager saw our situation & took care of us by taking our order and making sure we got served, and that was about the only highlight, except for the delicious company of my bride. We’ll be going elsewhere in the future. Take my advice and do the same.
